I'm as entitled to offer my opinion as anyone else here.

To answer your question: I'll have to look into that and get back to you.

...and also bollocks. it's a common misconception among non-users that the users aren't into the music as much as the non-users. not helped by the non-users often not understanding why the users choose to do it in the first place

all in all its pointless trying to explain... since those who argue against it aren't likely to want to try it.. and trying it is really the only way to truly understand it

The fact I don't take them is because of the feeling you would have of listening to Trance or whatever after you effect of the drug has worn off. The music will never feel quite as good anymore unless taking some kind of drug, and in most TA's cases we listen to the music 24/7. I don't want to feel like the music could be so much better if only I were on drug X, because then I would be wanting to take the drug 24/7 as well, which in many cases leads to addiction and being completely fucked up. If you were an occasional listener of the music and only listened to it in the club enjoyed doing them every once and while, then that is different.

Theres no need for arguments , I just posted the topic to get peoples views. People do have different views. No point in lashing out at other peeps.

But anyways I mainly was wondering if the drugs inhance the experience for people? I myself dont do any x or coke ect. ect.
Just the ocasional smoking of the herbs, and that does bring out the music alot more. Its weird. Anyways carryon.

I went to my last rave after eating some serious pot brownies and didn't really like the effects. I feel like the lights and the energy and late night sleep deprivation is more than enough to get into the sounds of a GOOD trance set.

I would say that i am in to this scene because i like the music. Yeah, when i go out i do take stuff, but thats just to enhance the experience, I can go out and listen to the music perfectly sober/straight, but most of the time i choose not to.

To say that i am into it because of the drugs is complete bullshit, I always listen to trance, whether i am at home, in the car, or travelling on public transport.

so there

and you're basing this on what, exactly? anything other than blind assumption?

it doesn't work like that. i can't speak for everyone but the feeling i get from listening to a good trance tune while straight & at home has improved alot since i started taking pills while clubbing. it effectively opened up my mind to new levels of euphoria that i wouldn't have been able to experience before... yet can now reach with or without drugs. there have also been many tunes that i didn't regard as that special until hearing them on pills, and now i can listen to them at home & the memories of being high come back & make them sound SO much better... i know of many people who can relate to this

and mdma is no more addictive than gambling or alcohol... it only takes the wrong kind of mindset to get controlled by it

obviously i'm not promoting their use since it's up to everyone what they do... just saying not to write off users as lower beings

I'll agree with that.
I started listening to trance when I was about 13, and didn't drop until I was 19. I saw tiesto in Ibiza once when I was 18, and had an absolutely cracking time - no drugs involved, just buzzed off the atmosphere for hours.
However since I started taking beans and going raving a somewhat different, and arguably better feeling takes over. It's less effort to get there and that's where the argument that drug users don't go to raves for the music steps in.

Don't take drugs + An ok/poor set + little enthusiam = crap night
Don't take drugs + A good/amazing set + properly going for it = amazing night
Take drugs + An ok/poor set + little enthusiam = Good night
Take drugs + A good/amazing set + properly going for it = Amazing night

People who don't drop have to put in more effort to enjoy themselves, so arguably they are more committed, there more for the music than the experience.

IMO there are a hell of a lot of people out there who don't take drugs who enjoy nights out with their fave dj as much as me when I go out and do the same with the addition of chemicals.

And for the record, I love trance music, and the fact that I take certain things has no bearing on the fact that I go to these events for the DJs, for the music, and the atmos. As someone wisely said earlier, the Es just enhance that experience.

I have never taken drugs at a club before, in fact, i have never taken drugs at all. All I have before a trance night is a couple of red bulls so i dont fall asleep at 5am, but i can't imagine how amazing trance would be on ecstacy if it really does enhance the experience as the feeling i get from listening to trance in a club is just amazing, i don't see how it could get any better, apart from prolonging the experience through the not so good tracks!

I would kinda be interested to take ecstacy and listen to trance but i wouldnt as i believe drug taking is wrong, and plus you have all of the associated problems with drugs.

I've kind of learnt to accept that drugs is a part of going to a trance night and just have to ignore it and get on with listening to the music and dancing me pants off!!
