Id give it a C- on a A-F scale. Just below average. Comparing years is retarded in my opinion because your tastes change every year and what you liked before isnt necessarily what you would like now if you heard it for the first time.

With minute exceptions being non-factors, of course. Every generation pretends their first exposure to something was the best that something has ever been.

Yes. That's why, for me:

Oakey's Essential Mix World Tour 99 >> Tiësto In Concert all through 2005

2005 has been pretty awful for trance. It's been all about minimal techno...

2005, good year for trance so far. Progressive Trance is getting more advanced and melodic trance is just awesome. Eg, Mike Foyle-Theme From Dusk, Noel Sanger-My Prayer (Probspot Remix), Kaffdam and Plant-Summer Dream (Stoneface and Terminal remix) etc etc

Re: '05 rivals '99

I liked 1999 and 2000, but so far 2005 is the best! Lucky to live the trance life in 2005!!! It will be remembered!

There.. I said it. 2005 is by far #2 for best year for the trance genre, it could possibly be just AS good, maybe even better than '99. Good trance, I think. I had so much fun at the clubs. It was looking a little bad in the first and 2nd quarter. but then BAM!

AWESOME! 1 month to go! 1 month for more AMAZING songs!

I started listening to trance in the beginning of 2002, I think the best era for me was 2002-2003, but after this, when I started listen to 99 stuff I noticed I prefer the 99/2000 sounds: productions/compilations/sets.

2005 is average for uplifting/melodic trance and very good for the new prog. trance, comparing with other years, of course.

Imo.

I like all the yrs 2001-2003 better than 2005. I haven't grown to like the bass heavy style that is so popular in trance now.

I think 2005 has been a great year, a lot of quality tunes being released. Some of you guys just take everything so damn serious.

On point - signed, sealed and delivered.

On a more serious not, for those of ya'll that think 2005 has been a great year for trance, gimme 4-5 albums/compilations that ya'll think are worth it. I'm not taking the piss - actually am curious.
