i hardly ever come into the MD section but strolled in here today.. and saw the poll so i jumped in on it..

but i was shocked to see that Jose Zamora & Damian ft. Paleday - Transatlantic (Andy Moor rmx) wasnt even given a shot to compete...

it was my #1... hands down..

but of this list i voted for Summerdream...

Really wanted Innocent Thoughts to win, but maybe not a worthy trancer

Silent Waves ftw then, closely followed by Aftermath.

+1

I think one one the acid tests for a good trance track is whether you can remove all the beats and the melody would still stand up on its own. Take rank 1 airwave, a timeless classic and its melody will live on forever, regardless of what is backing you put it too.

I'm not stating that production is not important; of course it is. But in this day of identikit, generic trance, a simple track with an evocative and understated but highly memorable melody is a real gem.

If I was Foyley I would even approach film companies about getting this track licensed elsewhere. E.g you could imagine it on donnie darko instead of that gary jules piano track. I think it has major cross over appeal.

Aftermath is very good. Its quirky and it demands the listener's attention but track of the year?

GO LOVE THEME DUSK I say.
