Cd's skip and they can also melt. Vinyl develops pops if you scratch a record. Also, this goes back to what I said before. People just don't want to pay. You said it. It's cheaper. I see people just want the easy way out of not paying. Cutting corners. Shortcuts. But guess what and this is a fact of life? You can get by for the moment when you take a shortcut but eventually your shortcuts come back to bit you in the ass in some way. |
First, of all the things I said, that's the only thing you could respond to? Do you work for the vinyl (the actual material vinyl) creating industry or something?? Seriously, what is wrong with you?? Why do you think that you should spend every last cent buying music? I'm glad you have nothing else in your life to spend money on, but most of us do. If you think that makes you better than everyone else, good for you. Whatever you have to tell yourself to make yourself happy. I personally like when things become cheaper, that way they can be used by a broader population who normally couldn't afford it.
Also, is the computer that you're typing on going to bite you in the ass because it cost less brand new than one from 15 years ago did?

That's nice. Maybe you should go to Cuba or China. Communist. |
First, if you're going to quote me, use the quote button found down at the bottom right corner of my post.
Second, do you even understand what communism is? Obviously not, because communism has nothing to do with making products cheaper. Next time you try to insult someone, use words in your vocabulary that you actually understand.
That said, I'm done with this argument because you've obviously got such a skewed perception of reality that it doesn't matter anyhow. Some people are just morons and there's nothing that can be done about it. Enjoy your vinyl. While others do things like go out clubbing every weekend, take their girlfriends out for nice dinners, live in nice apartments/homes, AND listen to the same music on a different medium, you can always caress your vinyl and know that you have your priorities straight.

I have been using only vinyl for many years and have serato scratch now and love it. I am going to be doing a lot of travelling and studying out of the country soon and want to have a way to bring my "records" ripped with me and keep up with new releases without a weight issue when travelling. The digital influence on djing opens an easier opportunity for me to play out original productions too which is very exciting. I love the feel of vinyl and w/ serato scratch you don't loose that one bit. It is a great investment.

I bought finalscratch 1.5 (Laptop: Windows XP, 1.3ghz Centrino, 512 RAM) about a year and a half ago. I got it super cheap and purchased it with the intent on toying with it and reselling it shortly after to make some money. About 2 months ago i started selling off every record i owned that i could buy in digital format or didnt care about. No more scratched vinyl that cant be replaced easily, no more getting warped records from overseas that i paid too much for in the first place, no more waiting for records in the mail... its a beautiful thing. Now when i move to Ireland this summer from the US, i can bring my entire music collection with me on my laptop and on a spindle of CDs for backup and maybee look for some gigs without having to ship all of my records over or start a new collection. I cant speak for the CD crowd, but they seem to have done alot of good in the hands of Holden, Zabiela, Morillo, Sander K... just to name a few.

But not the type of communist who should overpay for vinyl to support the "elite DJ" system, right? For 24 you are pretty big dumbass.
