I would like to thank all the TA's that came through to support Jon & the Obey The Night Crew! Jon, Dave and I really do appreciate it!I just want to point out that it is sad to say that the trance scene in NYC is not as supportive of the great DJ's like Jon O'Bir. He played an awesome set and a lot of people missed out! WHAT'S GOING ON IN NYC! I remember people saying how he ripped it 2 years ago @ Ikon when PVD was doing NYE. Me and Dave tried to put this event together because we recognized Jon's talents and wanted to share that with NYC. When he was @ 114 in Philly, people came out and represented. When he was in LA the week before at Heaven, people came out and packed the place. Obey The Night wants to keep bringing GREAT talents like O'Bir to NYC so that people have something different to see, but we need the peoples' support. I'm not trying to talk down to anyone, nor dis anyone. I just want this city to unify and represent the music we all Love because it is hard in this city to throw a party when City gov't try to shut down small parties, classifies raves solely as a place to distribute drugs like if they where crack houses. That's not what we're about! But again the people have to come out and support so that the next show can be better. With out you there is no show!
There is one thing I would definitely point out, I always get alot of people who like house music dis trance. I really don't understand why! Music is music. The same way there are different races of people on this planet, there are different styles of music! I do see alot of websites & magazines dissing trance. It's just not fair! But that is why we need to support Trance DJ's, Artists, and organizations that promote it! We need to improve the state of the scene in order for it to survive!!!!!

ok, all that being said though, just booking a good dj is not enough. You have to make sure you book them at an awesome venue and promote it like hell in the right way. I didn't see any promotion at all besides on TA, so I bet most people didn't even know the party was happening. I wouldn't be so quick to blame the NYC scene because the party wasn't well attended, because there were packed houses at many other venues throughout the city that night, full of true edm fans.
