Fabric 20 is great. Transitions is hit or miss for me.

Even after Clovis said Fabric 20 was better, I still picked up Transitions and I definitely enjoy it more. Guess it's time to pull out Fabric 20, give it another listen, and try to figure out what I'm missing.

You can't really compare Fabric 20 with Transitions. They're both so different musically. With Transitions Digweed wants to try to introduce different styles of music that many are not used to hearing him play. Whereas Fabric20 is straight up Digweed from beginning to end.

I think Fabric 20 is better overall but both have their strengths and are miles ahead of a lot of other mix cds.

It seems like Fabric 20 is just wayyyy too mellow for me. Like, i cant listen to it and picture me dancin in the club. Transitions on the other hand, like Ivand mentioned, transitions has some great tracks, bangin beats, and also some not-so-hot tracks. IMO!

I think Transitions is a class mix and probably my most listened cd this year. Took me a while to get into it but nowadays I like it a lot... There are a couple of tracks before Roots 4 Acid that don't do much for me but overally it's quality work.

+ 1 I love the sax in that breakdown. It's like the soundtrack to some classy 70's porno. I prefer Transitions over Fabric 20 but I enjoyed the Fabric disc alot. I mean Digweed had to put together a set typical of something you'd hear out at a night at "Fabric" itself and it definitely seems to fit well with the rest of the series. Digweed was definitely an interesting choice to be picked to do a Fabric....It's like if Paul Van Dyk was asked to do a global underground...but Digweed has such a good arsenal of music that he's able to pull it off. I doubt alot of people on this board who are criticizing Fabric 20 are really into any of the other cds in the series as well. I personally enjoyed Adam Beyer's Fabric 22 which is a bit heavier than Digweed's disc.

Transitions is a good showcase of a new music for Digweed but still has that signature Darker, Low-End heavy edge that he has. He does a good job of fusing the tracks together and building tension and eventually releasing it throughout the cd much like he does throughout a live set. Tigerskin - Neontrance is just an absolute bomb. They were fast becoming one of my favorite producers even before that gem came out. I also really liked oliver Lieb's new track "Every - Feeling" and Catwash - Plastic Rubberband. Anyway, this mix stands out about many of the recent cds I have bought/listened to and I look forward to Transitions 2
