sure the physical aspect of giving birth solely effects the woman but that doesn't mean becoming a father has no effect on the man. if you get someone pregnant then it becomes your responsibility too, you have just created something, so it affects you too, surely you would have a right to have a say in what happens to that creation?

nope, sorry. for to extend your argument to its logical conclusion, you would have to argue a man's right to force his partner to term or conversely, to abort. neither of which are acceptable. therefore if those 2 options are unacceptable, exactly what \"say\" do you think a man has? ultimately, no say at all.

bullshit. you're coming from a logical rationale on the physicality that's impacted. again, i emphasize the point. the physical impact of bringing a life into this world is merely 9 months. sure, one that only influences a woman's lifestyle, but account for after the fact please. my argument isn't that a man has the right to coerce a lady to deliver/abort. it is that neither have the right without consultation and final agreement with the other.

i dont normally flame straight out of the blocks, but its late on friday and i cant be nice all the time.

how stupid are you?

\"neither have the right without consultation?\" so, a guy blows his load and instantly has the same rights as the person that is responsible for carrying or aborting that child? what planet are you from? and so, lets for arguments sake, say there isnt final agreement? what then einstein?

it is a woman that feeds and houses the child. it is the woman that must go thru the pain of child birth, or the emotionally destructive act of an abortion. and you think men should have an equal say in what happens to that child, just coz he happens to have tadpoles that can swim?

i wish guys would get a grip and stop thinking they have any say on what women do to themselves. keep your ideas off their body.

how stupid are you?
very.

sure it only impacts the woman physically but it is the man who has to cope mentally here are a number of instances
1) constant complaining and nagging, even more than normal
2) hormone imbalances making her completely unpredictable and psycotic
3) seeing her double in size and wondering if she will ever get her old body back
4) wondering if your sex life will ever be the same
5) dealing with all of the above leads to the guy eating more to find solace in food and gaining weight

i could list more but i get the feeling i am going to be killed just for these comments so i will be quiet and before i get yelled at i would just like to say that all of this is a joke and that all women out there go through hell when they are pregnant and i glad i am a guy. so it is ultimately a womans choice but if she consults her partner then credit is given, but if she doesnt it should not be held against her.

in a healthy relationship why not? any impact of a decision that extends to the respective parties should at least have a say. again, if in a healthy relationship - fatherly responsibilities that fly over the mere act of child support aren't exactly anything to be undermined either.

i never acknowledged we lived in an idyllic world.

so let me get this straight. if i were in a healthy relationship, where mutual respect for one another exists - assuming both are corrrelated. I could do whatever I wish with my body? without "accounting" or "regarding" the other's wishes or desires. which means ultimately, I could go out tomorrow and get a vasectomy and everything is aie okay?

Now, what planet are you living on?

Decisions shouldn't be made at a snap when the impact extends further than yourself.

Familiar with MBTI Personality Typologies pkc? Try and convince an "NT" there's another view to the world, and you'll always be incorrect. But hey, you think like einstein (sincerely) so all's not lost

see, what youre doing is saying \"oh, the boy and the girl should talk about it blah blah who cares its not an interesting topic for debate\". in that context, it basically boils down to how each individual relationship works. i couldnt give two fucks about the subject on that level.

we're talking about ultimate laws and rights for abortion. you cant make into law \"the boy and the girl must chat about it maturely\" so whats the point in discussing it?

you cant reduce rights and law to such a subjective discussion. women should and do have the right to keep or abort the foetus as they choose and thats the way it should be. if they wish to discuss that choice with their partners that again is their choice. but to say the father has a \"right\" to intervene on that choice is bullshit. and thats how the law sees it. tough titty.

But there is logic in what he is saying, one of the issue regarding this whole abortion debate is when is to early/late to terminate a fetus.
Some people anti-abortion state as soon as the embryo is conceived, so therefore the prochoice people jump up and down and say sperm has the potential to make a baby, so wanking therefore is a form of murder. A weak leg to stand on but it is a common argument used.
