I think Vertigo remixes of Stoned In Love are decent compared to the awful original, especially Vertigo's instrumental is lovely.

just reminds me of armin - yet another day and that is by no means a good thing. And the fact that he thought, "i know ill make a dance track with Tom Jones, thats a great idea" is just farcical

At least pop music can be good...this doesn't even come close.

I nearly laughed up my pharynx at the press release. Here's an excerpt:

quote:
‘STONED IN LOVE’ is the new single from one of the UK’s most successful crossover dance acts CHICANE, and is released on the 24 April 2006 through Globe Records / Universal

Having taken his time to write and regroup, CHICANE returns to deliver another killer hit single. One would expect nothing less than the absolute best from Chicane, which is why he has teamed up with ultimate music legend Tom ‘the voice’ Jones

Lending his celebrated chords to the record Tom adds a surprising and powerful hard edge to an already devastating track. Following Chicane’s previous hits, ‘Offshore’, ‘Saltwater’ and the number one smash hit ‘Don’t Give Up’ to name just a few, ‘STONED IN LOVE’ is set to reaffirm that there is none better than Chicane

Forget what you know about dance music and forget what you think you know about Chicane. Things are about to change.

Where's the ROFLcopter, etc...talk about hyperbole that is nowhere near deserving.

I love to revel in the fact that even though the likes of BT and Chicane have fallen far, there are still the legendary moody proggy/breakbeaters, Way Out West, who haven't forgotten their calling.

They went mediocre right after their first.

Well...that's left up to the beholder but their musicality is still unmatched by most. Both followup albums had huge tracks without excess velveeta and most were above "mediocre" status. They've just mainly been more tempered and have mainly continued to do what they do best, not taking as many risks, just making GOOD music.

Tracks like "Spike," "Activity," "Stealth," "Intensify Pt. 1," "Northern Lights," "Killa" and "Apollo" are all veritable highlights of their talent after the debut...

Hmm a strange choice for the vocals. Not that i think Tom Jones can't sing, its just why him (no offence Tom!). Its an image thing, and their traditional genre's/styles just don't overlap at all.

I mean (as someone said earlier) is Nick looking for a share of those flying female underwear garments or something!!

Still i've listened to it quite a few times, and it is growing on me. I just still can't get my head round Tom Jones though.

I'll be interested to see how this performs in the charts.

Half the copies will probably be bought by die hard Tom Jones fans who have never even heard of Chicane !!!
