It's amazing how many people have an infatuation with cuban cigars. We're not in the 20's anymore when cuba used to make the best cigars in the world. Go out and try other brands people. Romeo and Juliets are average cigars, if you like them there are plenty others like them. Dominican cigars are as good and a lot of the times better than cuban cigars. There are many good honduran and nicaraguan cigars coming out too. Go try them out. If you're going to buy cuban, do some research and don't buy into the stereotypes. It's not all about cohibas and romeo and juliets. For cubans: partagas and bolivar. For dominicans: arturo fuente, aurora (for budget cigars), leon jimenez and la flor dominicana. For hondurans: Hoyo de Monterrey. For Nicaraguan: padron. Go out people and try different stuff, don't get tricked into just buying the popular ones!

a bit too dull & heavy for me, but not bad, and very easy to find, and not too expensive.

I have one for those of you that like strong cigars: La Flor Dominicana Doble Ligero. I warn you though, its REALLY strong . It's an awesome cigar though.

I wish there was a large cigar shop here. I'm limited to our Hokus Pokus Liquor store's humidor. The owner is really knowledgable about what he carries, but he told me there just isn't a large enough demand for him to carry a wider variety. He went to the back and brought out a Cuban Cohiba Siglo III.. says a friend of his brings them in from the Bahamas every now and then.. heh. He mainly carries Monte Cristo, Don Diego, La Flor Dominicana, Dominican Cohiba and Arturo Fuente. I can't complain too much because I love all of those brands.. Anyway.

I bought a pack of these today:

Monte Cristo Memories

I smoked one just now and it had a great taste and great draw as expected with a Monte Cristo. But I was really kinda disappointed with the construction.. It was way too "spongy," the wrapper leaf was kinda shoddy and it burnt really unevenly (and I know how to light a cigar quite well ).

But I can't complain all that much - all that stuff is aesthetic. They're great to have when you don't have the time to sit down and enjoy a Robusto or Churchill.

I was broke until today, but i've been wanting to buy some of the smaller ones because usually i dont have enough time to smoke bigger cigars during the week. I have one of these bad boys sitting in my humidor, it's been there for almost a year now, but i just dont have 2 hours to sit down and smoke it (its 8.5' long)
