Often H-bombs then have what is called a third stage (the first being the fission primary, the second being the hydrogen fusion) which is a shell of uranium around the device that is ignited in a process known as fast fission (neutrons from the fusing hydrogen bombard the highly enriched uranium and cause it to to split).
Unknown to most, a majority of the energy released in a hydrogen bomb is not from fusion but from this third stage fast fission reaction. |
yeah, so how is what i have said wrong? hydrogen is used (somehow) to start the reaction, yeah?
