when i was still young, and sasha bought his first TT's, america was still clean, and trance wasnt born yet (im talking bout back in the days of early till mid 90's); Moby - Go. this track definately has a big influence on me, prolly the biggest.
after that, some tracks like;
- gouryella - gouryella
- ultra - free (svenson & gielen mix)
- dj tiesto - flight 643
- pete heller - big love
- des micthell - welcome to the dance
and most important/not to forget; Delerium ft Sarah McLachlan - Silence (DJ Tiësto I.S.O.S Remix), a track which gained massive support from the DJ in the local disco/club here. that how i noticed it/picked it up ... my thnx go out to him
those tracks did the rest of the work to me. eventually, a fast internet ocnnection was inevitable to explore all the genre's, taste them, and define my taste. also, my passion for DJ-ing began some years ago because of trance ...
now, house comes sliding in on my decks sometimes too
Tracks that woke up my interest for EDM were (even if it's not trance music):
- stuff by Mark'Oh (Droste hörst du mich, Love Song)
aaaaaaaaand
the still unbelievable, terrific, outstanding gorgeous, banging, absolutely hot Moby - Feeling So Real (Westbam Mix)
Real trance music got me back in 1999 when I heard Art Of Trance - Madagascar & Gouryella - Gouryella

I'd say Sash is the producer who got me into trance. I know he isn't a trance producer as such, but before I started listening to Sash I was one of these people who listened to 'everything'. His music is what got me interested in EDM. Then I fell in love with trance when I started hearing songs like 'Al Nino' and 'For An Angel' in about '97 or '98.

i'd have to thank underworld for making me seek out housey, technoish, and trancey music... anything 4 on the floor... as i fell in love with their tracks rez and born slippy before anything else.
in terms of discovering trance (like when i was only listening to house and stuff some 10 years ago), the first trancey track i heard was stretch n vern - go insane (moonman remix) on ministry of sound's annual III double cd. it was on the pete tong disc as far as i can remember, and yes, this was a ferry corsten remix back in 1997 or something.

Paul van Dyk - Nature One 2004
My first set I fell in love with. I remember driving around to it and feeling a compelling need to smash the gas pedal. I was used to quasi-energetic rock at best. This shit was another world to me. Now I have 55 PvD sets a year later. It was this website that got me into trance. Thank you TA.
