It's the same cause as ours though.
and what exactly do you think peacekeepers do?
What? You don't think they should know how to protect themselves?
They just wander around aimlessly and think they're untouchable or something because they're under the banner of the U.N.?
Are you even aware the a CANADIAN peacekeeper was killed by an axe??!
Whether you want to believe it or not, there are people out there that what to kill us, not just Americans, but anything to do with Western society.
They've been brainwashed by mullahs who have no concept of what Western soceity is or what a democracy is; they're afraid of change and loosing the power they have over their people.
If we were to take even a handful of their religious leaders to someplace like Toronto, where they can see for themselves that people of different cultures CAN co-exist peacefully that place would be an entirely different situation.

uhh yeah? Vietnam has wallowed and festered in communist oppression for 20 years since the cease-fire. only recently has the society slightly opened up to economic and religious pressures from displaced dissidents and international diplomacy.

i think you got the wrong country.

you don't have to answer that. in fact, i'd rather you not.

if you still believe that the normal, peaceful Iraqi will doesn't consider them terrorist, then we all have to conclude that you think you are smarter than the normal peaceful Iraqi and you think that they are too stupid to know the difference. would that be a true statement?

if it isn't, are you an Iraqi? are you posting from Iraq?

if it is a true statement, then what gives you the intellectual right to tell us or an Iraqi or anyone what a terrorist is and isn't? (serious question).

You are wrong again, Iraq is a 'Republic' country. President has all real powers and Prime Minister weilds no power in republic system.

Remember Saddam Hussein was the President of Iraq and not Prime Minister.

Saddam Hussein was a dictator. Presidents get elected.

At least we understand why we support our soldiers and not ridicule them.
And yes, I'm talking about Canadian soldiers.
But there are no Canadians soldiers in Iraq?
Don't be so sure...

One thing that pisses me off is that the U.S. news never reports about the past Canadian peacekeeping missions in Bosnia, or their help in the real war on terror in Afghanistan. As a result of that, I try to get my news from the BBC. Previous to that Canada entered World War 2 against Germany, long before the U.S. got forced into joining because of Pearl Harbor, and Canada contributed heavily to the winning of World War 1, especially with the battle of Dieppe. While I'm proud of Canadas military considering it is a country of only 33 million people ( or somewhere around there ) and since the Korean War - has had a professional volunteer army, I'm glad former Prime Minister Jean Cretien didn't believe all the lies from the Bush Administration. As a dual citizen I'm sick of certain ( not all ) arogant Americans thinking they're the shit, and nobody else in this world does anything for anybody else.

Also I noticed that a certain arrogant idiot had God bless America under his post. Last week I seen a bumper sticker that is much more appropriate & alot less selfish

God Bless The Whole World!

I would hope that Canada keeps it's concentration on the real War on Terror in Afghanistan.

Consider all the insults I've heard about Canada when they refused to believe Bush that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, and directly supports Al Queda, I really dont Canada should be obligated to clean up a mess they did not create. I think Bush had lost all sympathy of Canada & most other countries with his horrible diplomacy.

Happily, we have our own foreign policy...
...and never underestimate our forces, we may be small but we can certainly kick some major ass if needed
