Tayfoon posts that Tiesto does not like Vancouver. Why is that?

this had nothing to do with the current "lure" of trance in vancouver... because as we know it is smaller than we would like it to be
my post was about building up the scene...
im thinking that making a huge fuss about it would just get "normal" people (nontrancers) interested in the event...
then they might come out to see what all the talk is about and what is so great about this big "gm place sized" event
then... atleast some of the new people being exposed to trance would end up liking it and it would go from there
i know many people who haven't even heard of trance, let alone tiesto... but a little bit of "big show" commercialization might be the answer we're looking for
of course this is easier said than done... so please don't mistake my optimism for arrogance... i do realize how difficult promoting is... and i have nothing but respect for the promoters out there taking on the risk of providing us with the scene that we already do have.

One thing missing from the Vancouver scene is local airplay for electronic music (ie radio stations). That's one big way to draw up interest but a few attempts haven't gone too well. I just feel trance, or electronic music in general is still a niche market.

in that case a small venue with people willing to pay lots of money to see him (because they actually are fans of trance) might be the best plan

if i end up going, i highly doubt i'd be in the front row, poor ol lil me would just get squashed by all the crazy wild girls trying to touch tiesto because he's so hot and sexy
