I guess I'll attempt to make a coherent review at this point after 6 hrs sleep.
Took a horrible nap before BEB from 7-11pm...couldn't barely get to sleep and was rather tossing and turning. Bad start. Later, met up with some buddies, found parking in 30 seconds and proceeded to start downing some drinks!
Showed up at 1am to NO lineup: 0. I couldn't believe it! We literally walked inside in 5 minutes from outside all the way through security. AMAZING!! What a contrast to 2 years ago when it was a 2 hr line .
Got inside, the setup was kind of confusing the way they had the rooms split up and to the left a bit. Was it me or were the decorations non-existent? Besides that mess of material in the middle of the Tech Room, there really wasn't anything else. Not that I really cared anyways...
Nic was spinning when we showed up, barely had any time to listen properly. Next thing you know it's off to the House Room for THE WORLD IS MINE. Oh boy, me I go Dome 2000. THE WORLD IS MINE never-ending track. Guetta was solid, but had been mentioned, too much sausage fest in there at that point so barely stayed for more than 15 mins.
Back to the Tech Room for IM. Was kind of a blur at this point as the bar was closing at 3 and we had to take advantage . Between repeated trips to the bathroom and headbanging to the guitar, their set went super fast. All I remember was hearing Cities of the Future over and over and over ...
Cue Armin at God knows what time. Another blur. We were all the way at the back of the Tech room cuz it was super busy. He played his Coldplay Junkie XL remix track there right on schedule. The rest? Predictable stuff from ASOT 240+. Standout track: "Nico Parisi vs. Erik Hubo-Metro". He played that on NYE at Redlite and it absolutely DESTROYED .
After Armin, the Tech room really cleared out...and it was time for PREACHHH. Went right up the front and ripped it up for Preach. Recognized a LOT of the tracks (I suck with names) from his past sets! The crowd didn't really seem to be getting into it...maybe it was the lack of vibe from everyone leaving, I can't pinpoint it.
Preach played FOOKING hard from say 10:30 onwards...wow. I was running on fumes at this point and was SO desparate to go to bed but Preach kept me there "ok one more track. ok one more". MOst of my friends cleared out to Deep Dish in the House Room, but I stayed in the Tech room till round 11:30 and my feet were going to fall off and I was going to fall asleep on the spot. GOOD TIMES!
It was nice to see some familiar faces last night and meet a couple new ones. Marcus, Light78, Malek, tatgirl (Nice eyelashes lol!), Kendo, gd_nimrod (did I meet you? I can't remmeber), Elie. COuldn't find the rest of you guys! I guess it's cuz everyone had VIP
Overall sick night.
Good organization with the non-existent lineup.
The bathrooms weren't THAT bad. I was running up there every so often with all the beer we drank and I really didn't find it that that bad.
The GIRLS. OMGGGGG wow. Total tease holy shit. Montreal has the hottest girls on the planet and last night just reaffirmed it to me again. And not just standing around eye-candy. Full-on busting it hardcore hotness. I die.
Till next year...my bed is calling me...muuuuust sleep.
