Good times.

BWAHAHAHAHAH! BRILLIANT!

My GF was originally a catholic... but she dropped that in favour of no religion (agnostic beliefs) which is OK with me. I just can't take a person seriously if... eg. they won't stay up late on Saturdays because they have church the next morning. I just start to question "Are you going to church because you feel good if you go? Or because you feel bad if you don't?" The former is a reason to go. The latter is not.

People don't need religion and Sunday school to be *good* people.

I agree that people don't need religion to be good people. My main reason for this thought (which in all honest likely hood will never be carried out) was that by getting them to do something constructive with thier sunday mornings I can help instil a sense of productivity and reflection on how to be a better person. It would serve as a weekly reminder to improve one's life.
I know there are dozens of other ways to do it, but this struck me as being a good way for a bunch of reasons. Also because I do not plan on being devout to any religion at that time it will eventually serve to educate my kids to challenge me as why they have to. Once they can come up with and educated logical response I would more than happily sign them up for little league or whatever else they want to do on sunday mornings instead. But by this point the values will be well instilled on them and they will have learned religious tollerance which hopefully serves them well later on in life.

Beyond this idea I don't really care about religion one way or the other. As long as yours doesn't interfere with mine and you are a good honest person then I'm happy for you.
If you are going to participate in organized religion then it should be in a way that teaches tollerance and helpful living in a peaceful manner. I see Buddhism (no I'm not Buddhist though) as being one of the best in this regard. That's all.
And let me state this again for the record... This 'plan' of mine will in most all seriousness never be carried out anyway.
