Its because it's not just this one law. There are laws like this being passed more and more. Each and every one represents a small chisle off our freedom as a society. Read my tagline... it says it all.

What about those that are moving but can't do it because they fall between the two proposed dates?
Personally I see nothing wrong with Garage sales unless someone is putting one up every other weekend; then I'd call it a business and there should maybe be a permit involved as it obvious they're generating cash for income and not just some spring cleaning/moving sale.
What are all the blue-haired old women to do with their weekend mornings??! They're being forced to their bingo halls! Where's the outrage!!!?

I have actually been to a yard sale on a Saturday selling an old bookshelf I threw out on Tuesday with my garbage.

Now that is funny...

The bi-law does not establish two days that garage sales are permited... it restricts residents to only 2 garage sales per year. My understanding is that the dates of those sales would still be at the homeowner's discression.

they passed it.

Now they are talking about banning power saws and other "construction equipment" on Sundays.

Yes you heard it, now you will have to take a day off work to build your deck in your backyard.

As i said, piece by piece our rights are being taken away. Im pretty sure soon they will ban bbqs and lawn mowers.

Id say pretty much every new ban and by-law is ridiculous.

And the funny part is that the people who support it, probably wonder why we cant have any good festivals or parties in canada. Well i'd argue its due to the same method of thinking that goes into banning garage sales and backyard saws.
