Is it different for a business? Everytime I have exchanged money from US $ or British Pounds, its always just been a % of each dollar, and not fee.

Would be nice if the Canadian Dollar would start going up against the Pound. Would be very enjoyable

Canadian/Euro, ever since the Euro was introduced into the Market its always been at like 1 Euro to 0.71 CDN$. I will be over joyed when it goes to 1 Euro to 0.80 CDN$.

I hope one day 1 GBP to 0.60 CDN$, not that would be heaven.

conspiracy theory #1 .. middle eastern countries want to start priceing barrels of oil in EURO rather then Dollars... The dollar would collapse overnight. There is a reason why the U.S dollar is also called the Petrodollar.

discuss..

The canadian dollar and Norway kroner are petrodollars.

The US is an international trade currency used for almost everything.

Soon the Greenback will be used as toilet paper.

i was thinking that... why dont they use the GBP as the cost of a barrel of oil?

1 Barrel = 158.98729 Liters. Man oil companies make a huge profit.

Canadian Exports for March 2006, in $ Millions

  1. Energy Products: 7,533
  2. Machinery and equipment: 7,177
  3. Automotive products: 6,848
  4. Industrial goods and materials: 6,663
  5. Forestry: 2,936
  6. Agriculture and Fishing: 2,519
  7. Special transactions trade: 1,535
  8. Other consumer goods: 1,281

Stats Can Source

This clearly shows that energy is our largest export, but it certainly is not the dominant one. The manufacturing sector takes the next two spots which gives us a strong position. Energy exports did increase 25.6 % from the same point last year, which lead to our dollar's rising value.
