Thank god someone actually gets it.
This thread is a bit of a laugh really and kinda shows why psy isnt the future... well the future of 'trance' really. Most trance lovers dont get psy and rightfully so. Its unpredictable, erratic and psychedelic which is why most psy fans enjoy it. In contrast, trance is predictable, polished and contrived. Total opposites really. Besides, psy needs to be experienced in the right context and the right location and (no shit!!)... on the right drugs.
If you've experienced it, then you know what I'm saying... if you havnt... then it probably sound like horseshit. Fact is though, the hippies that started the movement had a plan and, even though its quite diluted, that plan is still in effect today at good psy parties. The music is an addition to the party and not the total focus. So how could that same music be the future of something else, when it is so closely tied to its own culture and future?! Take psy out of context and your missing the point entirely.
So yeah, unless the commercial trance population is suddenly going to start dropping acid en-masse and start exploring the inner self through 48 hour trance journeys, then I really cant see it becoming the 'future' of 'trance'
