When I was 16, I had a seizure while driving on a busy road. I was feeling fine until something about my reality just didn't feel right...like I was losing control all of a sudden - I stomped on the brakes and drove my car off to the side of the road in time before I blacked out. Next thing I knew, I was in the ambulance heading to the hospital.

Several CAT-scans, MRIs and EEGs later, they still have no real clue as to what caused it. I really mark it as a waking period of my life, a memento mori of sorts. The fact that you could lose control of everything you know, lose your consciousness, your reality, your life - all in a random instant - I think it's something that everyone should come to realize one day.

It's wierd. When I had it for 24-hours, even though I can barely remember it (it was only 3 years ago, but having no recollection of what happened is pretty common), It was almost like watching myself do things throughout the day from another persons perspective. I couldn't feel, and I couldn't hear at all.

Just for the record, injuries are most likely to occur during someone having a seizure by other factors like them smashing their arm through a window or hitting their head. If someone is having a violent seizure you should grab a duvet or big jacket and cover them up and hold them tight and try and keep them from flailing their arms. It limits damage to the person having a seizure. While this is going on, shout help and get someone to phone the emergency services

Don't hold their neck, that's just fucking stupid... You hold their neck + violent jerk of neck = friend dead or in a wheelchair for the rest of their life.

Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong but this is what i've been told...
