Re: Best DJ
Is this site RUN by DJ Tiesto using a different name or something? Everything on this site is DJ Tiesto this, DJ Tiesto that.... He is good, but he is not a god. jesus people! I know i'm probably making a lot of enemies by stating that. I have seen him live, and he was great. He has a good sense of the crowd, but like someone mentioned earlier, he is like a young Paul Oakenfold.
Speaking of which, Paul Oakenfold started a lot of this, and he wasn't even LISTED up there. He is great, (wouldn't have gotten my vote), but please, lets give honorable mentions, ok? (This was who is the best DJ, not who is the best producer, right?). I don't think i've ever seen a crowd that big ever brought to a club using another DJ's name....
If this vote was to "who is the best producer," my vote would be with Mauro Picotto all the way.. That guy KNOWS how to make a track, and he uses so many aliases, that most people don't even realize the volume of the work this man has put out.
In classifying who is the "best" DJ , many people omit the talent factor and simply vote based on the music and how they feel at the time. If you are going to include talent, many have forgotten Danny Tenaglia.... granted he plays music that many people don't prefer, but he pulls 10 hour sets, and not only mixes live, but adds beats and melodies LIVE. each time is a different set by FAR. I can't stand his music, (way too slow), but that is TALENT.
Maybe i am taking this simple vote too serious. Just thought i'd add my 2 cents.... (ok, 10 cents).
I took it too serious? sorry. My vote then will be for Nick Sentience out of England. Now here is a guy that nobody has ever heard of, makes sick tracks (he produces as well), is only 21 years old, and is touring the world, sellout crowds everywhere, and getting laid every night. And his sets? Forget about it. This kid will be one you will hear about for years to come.
