WELL, plans to sleep and get up early for the skybar portion were thwarted when a friend and i decided to just keep drinking instead until we left for the club. eek. extra drinking time + me = bad idea. arrived there around 3:30 completely pissed. after taking an elastic out of my hair and giving it to someone for no reason whatsoever, i then proceeded to wander around asking everyone who i knew (and probably quite a few that i didn't!) if they had a hair elastic. that was a mission and a half to find one!
anyways, heard a bit of lawler's set inside, but didn't really want to stick around in there for the usual reasons. think we were up on the skybar around 5 or so, but lawler seemed to come on pretty shortly after that, so i can't be sure. his set was good, but i didn't think it was anything spectacular. i figured it wasn't going to be as good as last year but it was still definitely fun. i liked that "street spirit" remix as it is one of my fave radiohead songs, but i could easily see it becoming completely annoying if i heard it all the time. in any case, we actually got a sunrise set this year since you could see the sun! wish i hadn't left my sunglasses at home. it is always fun to dance outside to good music in the sunshine and the majority of people seemed super friendly, not pushy and rude, which is what you usually get when you go there.
ok....that guy who was getting dragged out by like 3 security dudes right in front of me completely freaked me out. then about half an hour later, another group of security people rushed by me again after someone else. ffs people.
