Well that was simply superb. I have never seen U2 before and I was so impressed. Bono's voice was amazing and the atmosphere so positive. I'd have to say my fav song was 'Where the streets have no name'. What was the song he did for his dad? I hadnt heard it before.

I have a lot of respect for people of their stature using these avenues of media and entertainment to spread important messages to the world for those who do not have the resources or ability.

What I saw of Kanye was good but definitely not as suited to a large venue. Maybe not the best choice for a warm up

Here are some pics I took

Cool pics Charlee

Agreed. Bono's voice was really awesome. I think the name of the song he did for his dad was called "Sometimes You Can't Make It on Your Own"

Highlights for me:

Beautiful Day
Pride (in the name of love)
Streets have no name
With or without you
Angel of Harlem
One
Vertigo

Huge night and the atmosphere was really brilliant. So glad I got a ticket for that.

Bono had great crowd interaction too... pulling people up on stage and singing with them.

He lit flares on stage but didn't throw them into the crowd like a crazy soccer fan

Yes the girl he was dancing with didnt know what to do with herself. Dean said that Bono nearly burnt his face with the flare

Such an amazing concert, they have some sort of magic about them, and Bono's voice really is absolutely supurb.

My highlights were Sunday Bloody Sunday, With or Without You, Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.

Hearing the entire stadiumsinging along was sensational. We were so in tune!

Yeah dude, that was nuts. 70,000+ people with mobiles on, it was off tap to see that.

It's the 3rd time i have seen U2 live in Melbourne and they honestly are getting better with age. Bono's voice is phenomenal. The Edge is sharper than ever - and the production was second to none a always. Just really uplifting stuff. Perfect amount of crowd interaction i thought - from where we were (front row on level 2, just to the side) it looked like Bono was walking on a sea of people when he came out onto the b-stage.

I think part of the reason that this was their best concert to date imo is the stadium was the perfect size. The MCG was too big really, with to much open air to cause havoc with the sound. Waverly was pretty much the same, with with TD, and the way the stadium makes those on teh sides almost sit on top of the surface it was nice an enclosed - i just thought it made the atmosphere so much better.

I was working at both the Sat and Sun concerts, would have gotten in about half an hour of the show on each night. From what I saw, I thought the Saturday concert was better, but it would be hard to say cause I only saw a quarter.

Was interesting to see the setup going on, took surprisingly little time, must be a really professional outfit to have the stadium converted so quickly.
