You are entitled to that opinion, but for me 'Voller Sterne' is the best track on Mirco's Chronoscale album which is why I chose it and it fit well which you've already said.
Indeed I am an amateur bedroom dj and might I add an obsessive one at that. Also, I'll always be an amateur because my true passion is civil engineering which I'm currently going to school for so you might notice some technical errors, but nothing too drastic.
Oh nooez! Please read my entire first post again. If you don't feel like it then I'll paraphrase here: Proper trance is a genre of music and not some title I made up. It used to be produced a lot back in the early to mid 90's. Only now did I ponder the question of how that music would sound like in today's times, hence the whole point of this thread. |
I would have to disagree.
"Proper trance" was a term coined by UK tranceaddicts to seperate cheesey top40 trance (the epic, anthem, and hands up junk) vs its underground styles (goa, acid, dark, ect), with no claim to a genre or style of trance. "Proper" is the UK way of saying something's cool, good hot, bad (in a good way) ect.
Even though it may be a legit title for a DJ set album, it's about as lame as calling a set "Cool Tracks." (but with a nose-in-the-air twist by saying its "proper".) Actually "Cool tracks" sounds a lot better hahah.
Your set looks like a mixture of psychadelic trance, goa, progressive trance, and ambient trance (If you want to classify it genrewise).
Anyway, bickering over genres makes us look like pompous, pretentious know-it-all fuckwits.. Let's just play good music and keep it at that.
Hey call it whatever you want.. It's one helluva solid tracklist.
