thats a typical festival complaint u will have to get used to it cause it will never get fixed speakers always do sound shit at these big festivals in the uk it might be different abroad for some reason.
probably cos of the setup. over here we seem to get loads and loads of fairly large speakers spread around each giving shit sound and not really in sync with each other. in holland they seem to only use a few extremely large speakers. look at any pics of the big events in holland and one thing is consistent - the speakers are always the same. at the NEC the sound quality was appauling where as at sensation it is the best i have ever heard anywhere.

yeah ive just read on tidy.com that they had sound rescrictions in place but what they rescricted it to was stupidly low each arena was limited to 95db on the dance floor.
Yeh i remember parking a couple of miles outside global last year and seeing one of those "health and safety" toffs, with his sound meter in a housing estate.
I guess they are restricted under thier license about how noisy the speakers can be.
All the more reason to move to the illegal rave scene
Sensation in Amsterdam was one of the loudest i've ever been to, but also Tiesto in Wraclow in poland was ridiculous. The sound system was literaly rocking the basketball stadium to its foundations.

...My only moan would be the sound level, just wasnt loud enough and kept going up and down, especially when you where not at the front by the stage.
But all in all, 10/10 for this year, was very well run.
I was impressed by the sound in the Goodgreef tent. far better than the GK tent at Global gathering this year imo.

im going to have to disagree with you there, the sound at GG was far from perfect, but the goodgreef tent was absolutely appauling, it was ok untill tiesto came on and the crowd was louder than the music, i could literally here f**k all unless i was at the front of the tent.
after missing pvd at GG, i was really looking forward to seeing him at creamfields, but i gave up because the sound was too shite and i couldnt get anywhere near the front to hear anything. i was incredibly dissapointed.
on the other hand though, the other arenas were fantastic and i really enjoyed watchin various non trance djs. the goodgreef arena would of been ten times better if they would of set it up with the stage in the middle of one of the longer sides (like at GG), that would have lessened the problem.
apart from that i had a great festival, plenty of decent acts and very little scallies

Fair enough. I was talking to someone very briefly behind me in the Goodgreef tent who was of the same opinion, bit of a longshot but it wasn't you by any chance way it? I was fairly near the front with the guy wearing a loud shirt.
I found both at Global and at Creamfields that the sound quality varies quite a lot depending on where you stand, sounds obvious really but standing in a spot just a few metres from where you were originally seemed to make quite a big diffrence too me
The only thing that annoyed me slightly was the way the tent was positioned on a slope... Made it quite hard to dance at times Agree with you about how the DJ booth should have been placed legnthways in the tent, also could have done with a bigger tent size as it was waaay to packed in tight most of the night. I have to say I did feel really sorry for the guys who were in charge of turning people away from the side entrances to the tent. Nobody seemed to obey the rule, whatever the reason for it was!?
The only thing that got me really concerned was some guy who had clearly taken far too much of something started convulsing outside the Goodgreef tent about 5 mins after the sound had been turned off. He was clinging on to someones neck just so he could stand up. Medics seemed really slow to act as well. Anyone remember this?
