hmmm, boulder. well its a terrible place to raise a kid, since its so far removed from the 'real world'. its like a cosmopolitan, liberal, hippie AND yuppie city on the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. being from there i cant help but miss it all the time, but value my chance to get out, even if only to Ann Arbor, a similar but unltimately more 'real' place. not to discourage you or scare you off with this fakery or whatever. for example - the city has bought almost all the open land around it to avoid getting absorbed into Denver like every other city in the area. i leave thinking this 'open space' idea is normal, to realize its almost an alien idea to everyone else. simply tho, it would be an awesome college town tho. coming from there i never really lived in or near 'college boulder' just the normal everyday bullshit(which is prolly better than most MI bullshit). people choose colleges in the summer, based on tours and orientations and shit. ANY college looks beautiful and awesome in the summer, ann arbor for example. what makes boulder stand out is the fact it AINT that different between winter and summer as everyone may think. ive been notorius for wearing t shirts and shorts almost all winter there. its got great skiing like 1.5 hours away, sun, and if it snows itll be for one day, and then it usually melts in the near 60 degree temps the next day. plus no humidity(the bane of my wintry existence here). if you are into outdoorsy stufff like skiing, hiking, rock climbing and all that stuff you cant really go wrong. with its location you can live in another world surrounded by the conservative strangeness that is the rest of CO. this prolly is just rambling and not making sense to you but to sum up the policies of boulder - if you have the pleasure of dealing with Boulder PD and you are drunk, they will give you shit - if high, they will dump out the bag and shake a finger at you without so much as a fine(within reason). the rich hippyuppies prolly have something to do with that...ooh live cam:

yeah, boulder. What can tell you about Boulder. Crime is low there, espcially when you contrast it to a place like NOLA, but the tolerance for weed there is extremely high. There's not a lot of religion in the city, again I compare it to the South and how incredibly plentiful it was. Shit,I went fishing this weekend and as a grungy 20 year old stoner with an eyebrow piercing I stuck out like a sore thumb when compared to these people wearing camo chewing tobacco hats. Boulder's pretty cosmopoliton; however, I'm not sure how great of a thing that is considering that the city is simultaneously trying to keep its distance from the rest of the surrounding area. What this creates, in combonation with the cities prevalent middle-class, is a bunch of assholes who think they own the world. There are countless idiots who wonder around with a hard on because their parents bailed them out at every corner and no one was around to kick their asses. On the plus side, there's a lot of outdoorsy shit to do. If you have access to a car you can be surrounded by nothing but nature and mountains and shiat in less than 20 minutes. It also helps if you're 21 or you hve a good fake too I think it be a decently fun place to be for during college, but didn't really want to stay there for another 4 years. It ain't the big city, but it's not some rural hick town either. Oh and there are bumbs on every fucking corner now. .

any info bout em? |
my opinions:
brown: beautiful, but liberal art.. i want more braod range of classes. If youre into that stuff Brown is a SWEET school, very liberal and very nice!
dartmouth: 2 hours in every direction from anything! im exaggerating, but theres pretty much one road in and its a long way away from civilization. its small, and nice enough, i just didnt like the "attitude" there, it seemed like, at least this is how the guy i talked to made it sound, "at dartmouth we have the best (insert thing.) At dartmouth the quarters are arranged differenty, its way better than anywhere else.." its just that ivy league POV... i didnt like it.
thats it.
