ARIA Overtime info.

Just to let you all know...despite the fact that during the ARIA labour day party, the main room is being called the TRANCE room...DJs DaBaron and Lyle are most definately HOUSE.

Confirmation Coming Soon

I will confirm those details shortly!

I know that they normally play House, however for this night they may change it up a notch!

Well that MAY be true (I won't discount the possibility)...I still doubt very much that DaBaron will be playing any trance. As for Lyle...I've definately heard him play house, but you could be right in him possibly being able to turn out some trance.

Personally, just to stave off the confusion I think they should have just named it the Trance/House room. Just calling it the trance room, seems to imply that it'll be trance all night...and if i'm right about DaBaron (DJ Nelson Yang) and Lyle...trance won't be played during their tag team set at all. Though for those looking to warm up for AVN...it's perfect as the trance will be played in the early hours and the house wil be played to close out the night.

Oh and just so that no one will think I'm causing ripples. I have nothing but respect for the trance sound. While it may not be MY cup of tea, I know it is for many...so I would never think to bash it.

I'll do some more info. hunting and ask Nelson again what the deal may be (if he may be asked to play trance and if so can or will he)

Here's the skinny...

I JUST talked to Nelson about it...

For SURE he's gonna be playing HOUSE, and so will Lyle. As I looked up Frankie...it's said his style is funky progressive house/electro. Looks like the ONLY trance dj spinning in the TRANCE room will be Tron Huu.

I'm only posting this, because I'm sure trancers out there, don't want to go to a party expecting trance and getting something totally different. As much as I wouldn't want to go to a party expecting house and be totally surprised/disappointed that it was something else entirely.

Seems like there may have been a lil miscommunication or lack of knowledge from the powers that be, who put together the party. I'm gonna be there to party away with Nelson and Lyle...but trancers take heed...you won't be getting much trance that night at least not from 6 till closing.

...

Frankie can play trance
we played in a same party with Jon O'bir.

Frankie closed the night and believe me... he did a pretty good job.
He was able to keep the crowd dancing till the end.

I'm not informed about the other djs .... but if they do play house
Well I think the house could check out that party if they are discusted by seeing trance all around town on that weekend

Well I do feel (and more so especially if you say that Frankie can lay down the trance) that hitting the OVERTIME party at least at the beginning would be a cool way of setting themselves up for AVB shoud they wish to play it that way. Trancers deserve a weekend, considering how much HOUSE spins in this city.

I'm not saying that it's bad at all that trance will starting off the OVERTIME party...I just think that at least the main room should've at least been called the TRANCE/HOUSE room, just so that people will have an idea of what to expect.

So like I said depending on if your an NCM or Officer and your rank, you probably make at least $50,000 a year but most likely more. And depending on if you live at CFB Kingston your cost of living is probably very low as well, but even if you weren't cost of living in Kingston isn't that bad. Its only $30 which is cheaper than most nights at Stereo. Most of us on here who post about Stereo have put out probably hundreds and hundreds of dollars clubbing there just this year alone, and have never really complained for the most part. I know I sure as hell have.

TAG you're it hahahaha

TAG,
I know DJs Nelson Yang (DaBaron) and Lyle. Both are friends of mine. They've spun SEXAPPEAL wednesdays at STEREOBAR, and I believe Nelson has a regular residency at Boohda Bar (Not the one on St. Laurent, the one near concordia) on Saturday nights...though I could be mistaken.) Both tend to spin the slight funkier side of house, but Nelson has been know to drop darker, percussive tribal tracks from time to time.

You may not know them, but i'm sure every well-known DJ today was unknown at one time. There HAD to be a time when people went: TIESTO who? Hahahaha...

Don't be hating just cause you don't know what they're about. *Though I have to admit that used to do the same thing, a couple of years ago. I've since learned to just stay silent about such stuff if I don't know the DJs, and i'm not willing or able to check em out. If you're curiuous try out the party. If not, i'm sure you'll be able to find something to your liking that night.

But, I love those DJ monnikers hahaha.
DJ Mountain Stream huh? Yeah he's right up there with DJs Danny Tribble, Stevie X, Frankie Boomshakalaka, and DJ Manure Dung. Hahahaha.

Im still confused as to WHAT event this is...and yes im too lazy to read through 5 pages of posts.
and WHO are YOU mr.mindflip7474 ?

you are right that all the top djs now were unknown at one time. That being said we should all get used to the name. DJ LOPI cause he's for sure taking over the scene in the year.

On the subject of me...

ME? I'm no one...a mere dust mote in the night life here in MTL. I go out to dance when I feel like it, though I'm nowhere near the expert, enthusist, or elitist that some may be (and NO I don't mean you hahahaha).

As for the event, it's a party held by the Deuceswild group (expect mostly an asian crowd if anything lol). It'll start at Club 1234 till 3am then continue on at ARIA till 10pm.

No need to scroll per se. Merely click to page 4 and scroll till you see the flyers.

As for DJ LOPI...i'll keep my ears open.
