I hear you on the remixed rock classics. And actually I agree. We don't really need anymore of those. But - I make an exception on the Floyd track. I just think Eric Prydz hit the nail on that song's head in such a way that I've never heard any other such track done before. Clean, solid hit. I think personal preference is also a big factor here - I mean, I think "The Wall" is one of the best songs ever made and Prydz did an amazing job with it.
If you hear Armin's commentary about it after playing it on ASOT 263, it appears to have been done 'on a whim' - he says Prydz just happened to hear the original track while he was in a cab in Paris or something - then he just took out his laptop and made the track within some time afterwards. Choice.
