I got one, I installed the new MSN messenger for Mac, and everytime I run it it places the drive icon on the desktop. If I try to eject it, it tells me that the application is still running. I can eject it when I close out of Messenger. It's weird because that's the only program that does that. Also, anyone know of any programs for a Mac that will burn cue files? I was looking for Buurrrn, but I can't remember how many u's and r's the name has so I can't google it

Try copying the MSN application file from the drive that opens up on your desktop to your Applications folder. I'm thinking you're opening up the .dmg file everytime you want to use MSN, and as a result, getting the icon on your desktop.

For the .cue file - you can use either simplyburns or toast. Can't say I've heard of the program you mentioned though.

Open up Finder (like Windows Explorer, is the first icon on your Dock, the one with the square face) --> Applications --> Firefox (just double click on the application to launch it). The Firefox icon will appear on your Dock as it's running, scroll over it with your mouse, and holding down on the CTRL button, press your mouse button; a pop-up window will come up, and just select Keep in Dock.

Now you can add and remove programs from your Dock as you please

Hope this helps!

Alright apple experts - need some more help

After speaking with someone over at Apple, they instructed me that if I wanted to do any video editing at all, even just small video clips and stuff, that i'd have to go mbpro due to the video card capabilities in a normal macbook. His reason was that the macbook comes with a normal intel gma 64bit card where as the mbpro comes with an ati 128-256 option and that final cut will only be able to run on the ati card.

So from my point of view, I think he's talking out of his ass to sell me a mbpro and forcing me to think that the only way to edit video is to use a mbpro w/final cut.

The PC side to me says blasphemy, he's pitching a sale and i'm his target. So help me, can I install another video editing program on a normal macbook with the said video card to do any light video editing or will I suffer that greatly.

My last resort is to go with a normal macbook and if I wanted to do any video editing, i'd save it for my home computers after i transfer the files over.

You're help is appreciated!

The MacBook will not prohibit you from installing Final Cut Pro, but its configuration does not meet the minimum system requirements, and as result, you may experience a degrade in performance. For basic editing, Final Cut on a MacBook should do ok, while iMovie or any other "lighter" editing programs should be perfectly fine.
