98-01 Former Member of my Marine Logistics Squadron's
Anti-Terrorism Force Protection Team (ATFP), used to
be called Terrorist Neutralization Team (TNT).
New rule at the time was Marine Infantry would not
be in the rear providing us with security anymore.
it was up to us to provide it.
==================================================
Rangers elite? they're light infantry... Just cause they're
in SOC doesn't mean they are special operations. They're infantry
who jump out of planes with light weapons. Not that hard to get
jump wings...
Delta, British SAS, Aus SAS, Spetnaz, Israeli's Spec Ops,
SEALs, And U.S. Marine Force Recon (who train SEALs) are
some of the best in the world.
Hard to say who is better, but they're all tough hard as
nails hombres.
Spetnaz surround a building with terrorists who had hostages,
they took a couple of them quietly then dropped their heads
into the place. The terrorists surrendered ASAP.
Both SASs and American Spec Ops were on the ground in Iraq
and Afganistan early on, kudos to them.
Israelis are no joke, they'll hide in the sand of the desert
forever, heat is killer for us. Jungle warfare, well every year
there was a competition in central America between the various
spec ops and the U.S. came too but they never won.
Just so many different combat conditions, terrain, and such that
it's impossible to say who better at what. They all deserve respect.
Just not crazy about rangers called special forces. Marine Infantry
are Heavy Infantry (carry tons of heavy weaponary into a fight) and
are considered 'shock troops'. That's why we're first in the fight &
why we defend our embassies and WMDs. Also have had dedicated
anti-terrorist battalions for over a decade like FAST, Fleet
Anti-Terrorist Security Team, and I believe the 4th Brigade (AT).
We all have MOUT, Military Operations in Urban Terrain, training
as well way before the Army.
Well whatever, we're all brothers and even enemies respect each
other after awhile. A week ago veterans from Pearl Harbor had
an emotional reunion with former Japaneese Pilots who were part
of the attack. Couldn't even think what that must be like...

Well what you said was nice. But I hate to tell you. We here, in Russia and the rest of the world, know that American's no matter what forces they join. Be it Seals or Marines. That doesn't stop them from being a bunch of pussies in battle. I watched the other day on TV a bunch of American soldiers crying just because of gunfire and artillery going off around them. Bunch of pussies. But yeah I give props to the SAS always hard and always strong.
