- NAFTA
- Afganistan
- Kosovo
- and a whole litany of trade, boarder, security, agreements and initiatives far too numerous to list.
The truth is we've always had such a favorable relationship with the US that it is a matter of normal behaviour to work cooperatively. Since we work cooperatively so much people tend not to notice that cooperation unless it's a big issue like the three that jumped to my mind within 2 seconds of reading your post. Issues upon which the two countries disagree are pretty rare thus they jump to mind right away, which is probably why you have this illusion that there were many areas of disagreement between the two between 1993 and 2005. In fact there were very few areas of contension between our past government and the US. Nearly all of those areas of contension were warrented. |
In all fairness I was a little cobwebby and maybe I am being a little one-sided in this...
I was referring more to the U.S. <--> Canada deals more than the 'Other Worldly' adventures which Canada, but default, should rightly take action (therefore governing party is really irrelevant).
The fact that none come to mind I guess should tell us that, a) They're so insignificant that they're not worth mentioning or b) I, in fact, am totally brainless...(which at that point, is quite possible since my mornings are usually spent shuffling around ala zombie for about an hour...)
PS. NAFTA was signed by Brian Mulroney, a Progressive Conservative so that might not have been the greatest example...
