I wouldn't say that. That campus is pretty dead. I used to date someone who was there, he was soo fucking miserable - he just wanted to transfer downtown. but yes good for studying.

UTM campus is much further away than downtown.

Ah okay.

This is, generally, good advice: one's university experience will involve at least the next four years of one's life (and quite often many more) so where at which institution one spends that time is crucial...unfortunately, the success rate for adolescent relationships, I think we'd all agree, is rather low. But I wish this guy all the luck in the world

BTW, I think you mean criteria not criterium, the latter refers to a type of bike race hahaha

if you're going to live on residence, picking a good college is very important. but if you're living at home it makes no real difference at all really.

I'm apart of Trinity College, and over the years they really havent done much more me aside from minor administrative work.

There is no party life there really since it's in the middle of nowhere and there aren't many pub nights that people actually go to, but I'm not really going to school to party. I'm going to get an education. The Scarborough campus is a lot smaller than the downtown campus so you don't get that feeling that you're just a number. You don't feel like you're lost in the crowd. I used to go downtown and really hated that aspect of it. I am very glad I transfered to Scarborough.

so glad i didn't have to pick a "college" at a university. WTH is that?

anyways, i am in grad school here at U of T. didn't have to pick anything. i hear Trinity has the best rep but unless you live in res i don't think it matters at all. if you just want to go to school and get your grades and not be bothered with shit, pick one of the bigger colleges.

That said ... Scarborough campus feels like a High School well at least when I was going there a few years back. And there is nothing in Scarborough so if you want the university life go downtown.

But the one great thing about scarborough is I saved my self hour and half of TTC travel and parking was way cheaper.

I'm in the Commerce & Finance progam (year 4) at U of T, specializing in finance.

I strongly disagree with some of the comments that were made about the Commerce program and U of T in general. I acknowledge that there are both positive and negative aspects to choosing U of T over the other top-tier business schools in Ontario but to say that U of T has a terrible reputation for finance is just absurd!! especially given that Rotman has one of the best finance faculty in Canada, if not the world (I know some of them personally!).

There is so much more that I want to say in response to other comments that were made but unfortunately I don't have the time today.

If you are seriously considering U of T Commerce as one of yout top choices I would be happy to talk to you about it and answer any questions that you may have. I don't want to sway your decision in any way and as other people have mentioned there are many different factors, including practical ones like proximity to home, that you need to consider before making your final decision as to which school to attend. Of course you need to worry about any of this until AFTER you get your acceptance letters

As for which colleges to pick as your top choices, I really don't think it matters too much. Woodsworth and Innis are close to St.George station. A lot of Commerce students are in Woodsworth. One of the (trivial I guess) advantages to the smaller colleges is that you don't have to wait in line for an hour in the first week of school to pick up your OSAP documents (if you are getting OSAP) or for other administrative work. However, the bigger colleges tend to offer more scholarships. Trinity has a lot of prestige attached to it because it's old and a whole bunch of noble prize winners and famous politicians graduated from it so it's naturally more difficult to get into.

goodluck!
