I don't understand the need of people to get everybody else to agree with their beliefs, other than the fact that it somehow gives strength to their point of view.

Are people that afraid to stand alone with what they believe, that they have to try and convince others to go along with it?

Seems like an ego thing to me. Plain and simple.

+1

educate yourself on the argument from atheism, why god is a delusion, why faith is a virus and why religion is the root of all evil. unless you find the idea of critically examining your beliefs 'offensive'.
how closed minded.... and just before you bring it up, im not religious.

except the one difference is atheists push established knowledge on to others. things that can be proven wrong, but haven't been. relgious freaks push their morality, based upon unprovable concepts, upon all of society, believers and nonbelievers alike. you don't see atheists and agnostics trying to censor certain vocabulary out of all media, ban abortion, ban gay marriage and ban stem cell research. this the the problem with having absolute beliefs based in superstition... you begin to think you're absolutely infallible because there's no way to prove otherwise, and thus you have the right to make decisions for everyone in society.

ps- i don't think anyone who's naive enough to buy stock in 'faith' has the right to laugh at anyone lol
