Maybe he did mean it. I doubt this will hold much water given that it's 30+ years old, but it would support the viewponit of Kerry's history of disdain towards the military. I think Hillary Clinton may be the big winner in all of this.

my last 1.5 year of my 5 year plan I took out loans, Bastards!!!!! and the funny thing; Masters in Education and I work for the feds. Not even in the field of study.......still paying off 22k in intrest and princ. UUUUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH

Nice edit. I was going to ask how that article was showing him being condescending.

I really don't see what the big deal with this whole thing is. He's not saying that only stupid people are in the military, which is how people are trying to portray it.

Also, for the record, I'd like to say that overall, I feel based on conversations with people in the military now and with my dad about Vietnam that today's military is more intelligent than when he served.

My dad did ROTC in college (was the only way to afford it), graduated, went to Vietnam, came home, started his own business, stayed in the reserves (because he loves the Army and the soldiers in it), put 2 kids through private school and college, graduated from the Army War College and retired a decorated Major General. He's a real idiot!

Not playing a "my dad is better than your dad game." Just making a point.
