No, not to a great extent; but I believe you are more likely to be targeted by companies like BayTSP (an IP spying company) by using very popular, public sites as opposed to private sites. Although, as you indicated, downloading very popular rips, e.g., AXXO's, will likely increase the likelihood that you'll be targeted (e.g. with myself and an AXXO rip of Babel).

Perhaps you ought not fret too much: nobody in Canada has ever had legal action brought against them b/c of this kind of uploading/downloading.
