I'd be kind of worried Jonas I saw Dave covered and herpes and he told me he's had them since he was born. Check yourself mate, I told you to stop being such a whore.

Crash, I feel like this nonsense will continue. So why don't you do us all a favor, and retitle this thread "2006 Hater of the Year Part II" and call it even

Now, on the brighter side, lets' get to know you a little better, hince the purpose of this thread. What side of Dallas are you moving to? What dj's are you in to? MySpace page?

lol, ok well, djs: I like a lot of em... To tell you the truth I've gone to almost all the majore headliners that have come to PR, not all though, so I have a few good shows, Armin, Paul van Dyk, Tiesto, I even went to see Paul Oakenfold when he came but hes a douchbag I will never waste my money again. Sasha just came here to PR but to tell you the truth I got kind of bored, I respect his work but he just played what seemed like a 30 minute set with the same track, kind of bothered me, but the rest was pretty good. Digweed, Gabriel and Dresden, AK 1200 and MC Navigator, all major props on the shows. I guess thats a good start.

I'm currently not sure where exactly Ill move, the company that hired me is going to hook me up with an apt. finder company that helps new hires relocate, but the office is near Garland. So I not very sure as to where I'll live, I'll probably rent for a year somewhere and then hopefully I'll buy something. I'm open for any living area suggestions, to begin the renting.

I dont use myspace, I use facebook, which is now open to ppl outside of college, yes anyone can register.

Other than that I posted some things on the introduction thread .

I'm a facebooker myself

Look for me under Carlos Pereira.

Anyways I went to the Armin gig in Hacienda. I was supposed to meet up with George from PR (he's also a TA and a dj....you might know him) but I lost his number and never got a hold of him. Armin disinigrated that place. I remember that was around the time when the Young Parisians brought out "Jump the next Train" and the whole crowd went ballistic over it. I couldnt make it to the Tiesto show nor the Sasha gig, but I heard they were phenomenal.

It seems there's a growing species of people getting into trance in PR, at least I realized this last time I went. Can't wait to see what I find when I leave here in a few days...

Are you going to WMC by any chance?

Gah.. no I wish I was... Going to the WMC is on my TO DO LIST as soon as I'm completely independent and done with school. As for now, school and money are an issue. Tiesto was Great, the first time I saw him play in PR was in Las Cascadas, that party was insane, I remember a friend of Mr. Pink and me almost wanted to jump from one slide to the other (about 5 feet below) dangling about o10-15 feet in the air, obviously not sober... fortunantly the idea was withdrawn from his mind. Armin in the Hacienda was INSANE, that was probably one of the better parties I've gone to in my life. The energy in the crowd was amazing Armin knew it, he felt it, he owned it. That is what good parties are all about. i got to admit though The First Temple of sound was alot better than the Second one, I just think the Second one(where Tiesto played) he was just promoting his new album, instead of working the crowd and pumping up the party.

My friend the electronic ambience has always existed, it just got more low key because of the disasters the first few major parties caused. Way to many drugs, on a crowd that didnt even know what to expect, Rony in Las Cuevas de Camuy, and that was in the early 90's, we've come a long way since then.

I still get bummed out, because most people in PR like the genre but not enough to reaserch it, so everyone only knows the pop crap that plays on the radio, thats why when Seb Fontaine came to PR, the place he played at was not even half full. I must say, he still put on a great show, although I expected more people to show up to pay tribute to the artist. It's sad how reggueton has pretty much dominated PR music culture and radio for the last couple of years, and especially now that it's "popier", I mean I like to see a girl shake her ass as much as the next guy but after the first 1000 songs I want to listen to something else....

How about this: Houston used to run a radio station, Rock 101 KLOL. Guess what happened just a few years ago? They fucking changed that shit to a pure reggaeton station. I don't have anything against it though. I mean my grandpa lives just a few houses down from Wisin Y Yandel in Cayey, which is fabulous. But, just the idea of having the music dominate over a rock station that's been in houston for over god knows how long just degrades the genre a bit, not to mention from its own people who like shit other than reggaeton. My brother questions me every now and then; "How is it that you don't like reggaeton as much, but you listen to music with no words?" I say, "You have a loooooong way to go before you'd even understand my response to that."

lol

I mean you have to admit, the beats are catchy as hell, and no one really cares about the lyrics, that is why they became so popular n the first place! If you ask most of the kids who listen to the songs, and recite them word for word, they can't really even say what the songs message is about, it's all very disturbing.

How does this degrade the genre, I mean for all it's worth it just became even more popular, in the end all these artist are just trying to get noticed and make a living, what's funny though is the fact that the station changed their music, I wonder what all the fans thought about that. I guess I'd like to see the rating numbers, that would be an interesting argument in general, lol

PS Dont get me wrong, I'm one guy who doesn't like reggeaton, the mayority of the people in PR LOVE that shit. You can walk into any pub, ANY PUB IN THE ISLAND, and if you stay around long enough you will hear at least a few sessions of reggeaton. They even play it on the "backround" music when I would into Church to buy my Pechusandwich or whatever the fuck I want to eat. lol
