I'd love to go back to the US and try some more, though.

Sure, every big city has fine wine bars, but the fact of the matter is that for the majority of Americans, wine is not a beverage of choice - and especially not a hobby.

Unfortunately, Hard Liquor and flavored wines are where it's at. they attract the younger crowd - one who have little or no knowledge, in finer alcohol beverages, and think 'so-called fancy' Martinis are the shit.

I myself, am aware of the quality of wine, versus hard liquor beverages.

If you're criticizing hard liquor drinkers vs. wine drinkers, you're barking up the wrong tree. There are tons of hard liquor drinkers out there with an equal appreciation for their drinks of choice. Ever try a good sipping bourbon, single malt scotch, chartreuse, sambuca, etc. There are tons of tasty liquors out that are as highly appreciated for their flavor as good wines.

Sure, if you're talking about cheap vodka, then yeah, you're right, people aren't drinking it for taste. Then again, when you're drinking box wine, you're not either. Probably not so suprising that most of the time, it's the same people who enjoy both.

You have a high end and a low end in all types of things, alcoholic beverages are no different.

Thats why.

It's easy to chug down, but that's about it. There's nothing quite as smooth or easy to drink as a guiness (as long as it's the right temperature so it doesn't get bitter).
