while there's plenty of kidding around going on in this thread do we know for a fact that his death will be made into a public spectacle?

Oh I suppose I don't know that at all. But even if it's in a quiet, unmonitored room where they just give him a noose and nobody watches, people will still smile smugly amongst themselves that 'justice is served' and that the world will be a better place without him here to sign papers that result in people dying. But you can't kill ideas.
