Months ago when this party first got announced and everyone still wanted to go to sonic, I was thinking of going to this party by myself, then President Grinder decided he wanted to go, and one by one more and more people wanted to go, and sooner or later all of my favourite people ended up going.
This made me even more excited to go to a party I was already excited to go to.
I decided to pick up my level of excitement after I got a poster for the event plaqued to put up on my wall and NuEra pointed out that it would be a real shame if the party sucked and i then had a reminder of a bad party on my wall.
So all things combined, I was very excited and hoped to not be let down.
And as high as my excitement and expectations were, this party surpassed both of them.
The crowd was great, not This Is London typical, in fact I recognized most people from the zone earlier in the day. It was not overly crowded at all.
Lawler started out his set perfectly, dropped it down with some slow, groovy tunes. Usually I would not like stuff that slow, but it just seemed perfect for the night.
Then he built up from there, peppering his set with a mix of many tunes I had never heard before, and some older tunes as well, I don't care how many times I hear it Hugs n Kisses is still awesome.
Then the end of his set was pure magic, every tune was epic, exactly my style of house music, Shelley put it right when she said "any more and I think my head will explode!"
I'm betting this is the party of the year, and it happened on the first day!
Thanks Steve Lawler for the head exploding set, awesomeness of a new level.
Also, on an additional note to add to how good this night was, got a chance to meet both Nathan Barato and Addy, and was absoultely blown away by their niceness and how down to earth each of them were. Absolute class acts.
