I wasn't there but it's good to hear that the crowd and vibe of sonic's new saturday night is reminiscent of Boa's original nights back in 2004 that I used to love so much.

Great great night!!

Got there around 2:15 and Brad Copeland started off really well. From 3 - 4 I was really impressed! Sonic HAS TO BRING HIM BACK SOON!!! Best opening at Sonic so far!! Lexicon Avenue played really well. Although I love the tribal sound, hearing them play some minimal on that system was awesome!

My BF (Sugargbaby25) had to DRAG me out around 6:30 cuz he had to work at 9am! I didnt want to go...but it was cool he came out and basically went straight to work from Sonic. I don't know how he does it!!

Great crowd / vibe...I have a feeling next weekend may be on the same level for Creamer!!

Bryan

Saturday night was an excellent launch for the Saw parties.

The crowd was one of the best I've seen in that space, very mixed and they not only arrived surprisingly early but stayed late too. Very enthusiastic also since the dancefloor started filling up from the very start of Brad's set. Really good to hear him play out again, it was a great opening set! Lexicon Avenue had a solid night, very big dark basslines which I absolutely adored. For the first few hours I was pretty restless, I knew my head was enjoying the tunes but somehow it wasn't quite translating to my feet. They really seemed to hit their stride from 5:30 onwards and progressively picked up the pace. They were switching deck control every 30-45 mins and the cohesion between their styles was spot on, though I'll admit to favouring Mark's selection (the quirkier tunes, not always so dancefloor friendly but definitely interesting). I didn't leave til the end, even though my feet were aching. So kudos to Sonic, it's been a long time since I've closed it out and hopefully there will be many more similar nights in the near future!

- first time to Sonic, definitely much better than Boa I found. The setup was nicer and it wasn't too packed or too empty. It really was perfect. Except for having to smoke outside in the cold with no heaters.. burrrrrr (that is really my only complaint )

- first time seeing both DJ's: Brad was definitely doing a great job, but Lexicon Avenue destroyed the place. Having never listened to them previously, I absolutely loved it.

- Surrounded by great friends. That is always key to a successful party.

I am definitely a happy camper that I made it out to this party and given the right DJ, I would make a return to Sonic at some point in time! Happy Birthday again to Josh and Kris (who was celebrating for the 2nd weekend in a row.. lol )
