I wouldn't suggest lying to the insurance company to often though...you'd be surprised at how much the insurance companies actually do know about you and your driving records.

Hopefully I will never get to deal with one again .lol.

On the side note I have learnt my lesson and rarely even go up the speed limit. I drive like an old man now :P

I bet if I ever have an accident and have to meet with my insurance adjuster, the whole meeting I'll just be wondering how much E he/she has done last weekend.

adjusters like to party...and party hard.

Always wondered this, is it funny to see how people react when you tell them you caught them lying? I think that'd be the best part of the job. In fact, I'd probably put on one of those dramatic bad-cop questioning sessions just to watch the liar sweat and squirm.

Whats even better is when you get to testify in court and prove the person is a liar....I've had the chance to do that once.

On a side note, I just got a ticket this morning for running a stop. The road seemed unsalted and slippery, but I didn't stop completely. I admit that so I'm guilty.

However I hear that if the officer mis-fills the ticket, the ticket could be thrown out. Is this the case for below?

The Year listed shows 08. Is that supposed to be the year of the car or year of my licence plate sticker?

Prior to moving on to bodily injury claims most of what I did was investigate suspected fraud claims. Often times fraud claims are a game of poker... fraud can be very difficult to prove by legal standards (depending on the type of fraud) so often the course of action will be to tell the person what evidence you have and then invite them to withdraw their claim. Usually people are shocked with the stuff we can find out, they'll continue to deny the fraud but will eventually withdraw their claim.

I recall one claim I had for a trucker that set his rig ablaze. His story was that his truck had been stolen from a carpool lot that he had parked it at and set on fire. He claimed to be at home in Toronto when this happened (truck was found near Orangeville). Unfortunatly, for Mr. Trucker he called a cab after setting his truck on fire. We were able to confirm that the call was made from his cell phone and picked up from a cell tower less then 1km from where the truck was found. Poor guy couldn't figure out how we were able to find out where he was when the call was made.

I went to Indiana this past weekend, the faster speed limit in the states is GLORIOUS. Had it not been for that, we would have probably been driving for an extra hour, which would have been a bitch. We should raise our speedlimit, even if only by 5-10 km/hr.

Why, so people with just drive 5-10 km/hr faster then they already are. Raise the speed limit to 120 and people will still drive 140 and faster.

I say bring back photoradar and increase the speed limit on highways to 120....put the radar machines on every bridge and if you are going even 5 km/hr over the speed limit then you get a ticket.

But then it will take me an hour and 20 minutes to get to work rather then an hour and 10!
