This, I think, is where the topic becomes the most interesting. Perhaps it is possible for us to be scanned and exist in a different electrical form, but this perhaps is the crux of the conversation. Social interactions are nothing more than just data access, no? Yes? This very conversation - is it just minds interacting with one another over electrical impulses in order to glean some greater understanding above current knowledge, or is it a collaboration or information and transfer of such independent wills? I suppose it has to do with whether or not you believe that mankind is in existence to develop information, or to discover information. Are we creatures on the forefront of informational creation or are we just meandering through the darkness with our theories, hoping to stumble our way upon some new breakthrough, some new finding? Before you answer though, take a step back and realize just what you have to compare our grand knowledge upon. Are we even aware, truly, of any knowledge greater than our own? Yet we somehow know of just how ignorant we are in a cosmic sense... how can this be? |
I still think you are barking up the wrong proverbial tree.
To me the focus of reality was summed up perfectly in the Kurt Vonnegut book 'Timequake'. In it the main character is at a picnic or a barbecue, and there are people sitting around throwing a frisbee and eating corn on the cob or whatever, and the character says, "if this isn't good, then I don't know what is."
