Actually both Junior Colleges and Universities in Northern California rank much higher than ones in Southern California; in multiple studies too.
Southern California schools may rank higher in arts though
but in business, science, engineering, medical etc etc a lot of the programs up here in the past several years have ranked in the top 5 nationwide or in the world.
In any case Southern California does have great schools overall
I guess am going to a substandard school here in southern cali called UCLA.

I went there for Pharmacy School. I got over it a while ago. It truely is the School of Spoiled Children. I didn't have fun to say the least.
It's UNIVERSITY of Spoiled Children, and yes it definatly deserves that name But I had a blast there as an undergrad. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Can't say much about the pharmacy school though (infact I don't even know where it is)
But whatever floats your boat.
I would hate going to school in westwood. Ugh I hate westwood with a passion

I have to second that. If I was to move anywhere outside of the US, this would be the place. Great people, urban living, reliable mass-transit, and plenty of work.
