A few days ago, I foolishly ate a cheeseburger from this small, no-name fried food place near my house. I kept eating even though I knew something right. When I finished my meal, I saw a whole lot of grease in the container. I don't know why I didn't just stop when I thought it tasted funny.
The next day I had terrible, terrible diarrhea. I had to chug pepto-bismol, which doesn't taste good at all. I couldn't eat anything for a whole day, and I wanted to die.
My sickness lasted for 2 days and a half, and I don't know if I would have survived without the pepto. During that incident, I developed a strong fear of poorly prepared foods and the thought of burgers made me nauseous (I used to think my stomach was strong, but not anymore). I don't know exactly what was wrong with the burgers, but my main guess is that they were undercooked.
So my point is, while McDonald's is unhealthy, there is far worse out there. At least McDonald's does not put you out of commision for multiple days, and tastes good.
The optimal choice is to be a vegetarian, and/or cook your own food.
