J00F wrote about the NYC gig in his latest myspace blog. You can see the whole thing (including him going off about DJ's being lazy shits and playing too many anthems) at http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?f...logID=237446448

"The next night I was in New York to re-open the The Sullivan rooms that recently had a refit. I hadn't played here before so I had no idea what work was done, but locals tell me it was much bigger. I really liked the club, it was nice and intermit. I couldn't believe I had come across the same sound system problem two weeks in a row! Apparently they had teething problems due to the new set up and half the sound system wasn't working or set up properly. My ears took another bashing (Even through my ear plugs?!) and to top things off the promoter asked me to play more progressive. Ahhh, how do you handle situations like this as the guy has paid for me to come over and play for him? On the other hand he knows what I play so knows what he's booked?! With that in the back of my mind, I don't really feel that I played my best, I know for sure some of my fans wanted more power on the dance floor, so I played a happy medium. In the end the promoter saw how well the night went and gave me full permission to do what I wanted next time around."

Note: Who tells J00F to tone it down????

That's lame. I wasn't there but I have heard his many of his sets. They are NOT progressive. If you book a DJ you should let him do it how he knows best.

The owner probably yold him to tone it down since he doesn't like Trance. Yea, the sound was horrid when he played. Hopefully it's good now.

Thats like when they told Steve Lawler to play Trance in Mexico City and he said no. They then tried to kick his Culo out that mofo DJ booth and into the streets. LMFAO.

From Steve Lawler...

OK i'll let you know what went on.

i had played for 2 hours, and things were going fine, and then the owner of the club wanted me to play a 15 min, techno trance record called dance with the devil, which was about 160 bpm!!! so of course i refused to. I knew nothing about this performance and i wasnt about to break up what i had built musically.. so they told me to play the record or get off, so i came off, then when myself, my girlfriend and my agent went to leave the club, they freatened us with 10 bouncers, we were going to get the shit beaten out of us, so they forced us back into the club, litterally thisically forced us, i went back in and was made to play 1 more hour surrounded by bouncers etc..

i have to tell you, in all my career i have never ever had anything like this happen before, i was very worried for my girlfriend and had to do as they said.

i will never again come to gaudalaja, im sorry for those of you that live there, i will how ever be doing shows in other parts of mexico, but i will never step foot into that city again. sorry.

this was a very scary incident that i never want to be in again..

that club can go and fuck themselves, and i advise no one to play there, it was completely un real what happened.. words do not describe how concerned i was that evening..

the show in mexico city was great i ended up playing for just over 4 hours to a great crowd. so i will definately be back there again some time in the near future..

i hope this clears all rumours..

Steve
