ive heard from lifters that lifting on steroids gives you the results of 3 years lifting in 3 months....but steroids seriould f*ck you up if you do them improperly or even if you do them at all...my advice is stay away from them...cause that kind of muscle growth can do really bad things to you eg. muscle tears, stretch marks....supplements are a little safer creatine isnt too good for you..i think it screws with your liver...my brother occasionally uses phosphogen(i think thats how you spell it) and ive seen the results from that...if you work properly you get big fast....these things arent miracle drugs though you have to work hard every day to get results but after awhile it pays off...but the safest thing to do is to do it naturally which is what i do...if you do it properly for long enough you will get the results.....and someone said something regarding muscle loss and breakdown...it takes approx 3 weeks for natural muscle to break down if you do no work on it....so dont be scared to take a break every once in awhile...rest is a good thing ahh sleep...mmmmm sleep

you need to be a twig for long distance running..

apart from that, there is one thing i learned about marathons:
it is _ALL_ in your head
if you want to do it -really want to do it- then you will, but believe me, after the first one, you will be hooked -at least i was- and i have NEVER felt as great as i did, when i finished in less than 3:30!! I was on a high for a week. The wednesday after (race on sunday) I was the happiest person ever, when i was running again.. for NO REASON

umm, i never take any supplements, but it took my body just about 7 weeks to rid itself of all the muscle i had gained over the summer.. i am such a hard gainer, it is rediculous. that what i did, still people think i am fat.. 'cause i never do the leg-lifts... so i have a little tummy on the bottom and a sixpack on the top.. oh well..
