haha...I remember that, lol. It must be for "other" reasons rather than the homie aspect haha.

i think quote of the race weekend was made on Speed network, now, i dont know who of the three commentators said what but im just gonna say it was steve matchett and bob varsha:

Steve: "I dont understand how could Honda Have spent 320 million on a car just to make it a second and a half slower than last year's car...i mean they could have bought 15 pounds of lead for 10 bucks, and had the same effect, i think they should retire this car to testing, and revert back to last year's RA106 chassis"

Bob: "wait a second....they can't....super aguri is borrowing it !!!"

(said during qualifying)

whats a really cool fact about lewis hamilton is that he very well has the ability to be youngest Race winner in F1 history, a record first set by kimi i believe, just to be beaten by alonso, in (i believe) the same season.

as for my race review...

Tyres:

i actually like the new tyre rule, it makes it more exciting, when we cant see whats being put on in the stops, we're left to assume what compound they're on...we know the bridgestone soft compound grains heavily, and those guys will have much less grip, this new rule of using each compound can decide strategies and define how a race turns out, definately interestting

Red Bull Gives DC Wiiiiings:

massive collision from DC and Alex Wurz, definately a brave move from DC, but alex wouldnt give up that position so easily. Luckily for Alex he braked in time, the onboard view was nuts...imagine seeing that through the eyes of the driver...

Kimi drove well for ferrari, can't really gather anything special from his performance, and quite honestly, i expected more from the other ferrari, felippe massa. the commentators did say it was very schumacher like of him to 'protect the car with cotton', knowing he wouldnt win, try not to hit anyone and go for points, i think if he pushed a little harder earlier, he couldve taken over 5th from fifi.

Lewis hamilton impressed, hands down...i believe it was someone in this thread who said he's the one rookie with his head screwed on the best...definately exceeded all expectations from start (and what an amazing start that was by hamilton, moving to the outside in traffic) to finish.

oh, and kimi showed that in ideal situation he can be very monotonous and say ideal situation a lot, and how he was in ideal situation in an ideal race....i wish he showed a bit more excitement the iceman is a bit tooo cold.

I thought, "Oh right, if I categorically eliminate all other people, it's just me and her. She'd like that.
"Especially you" I said.
"You are virtually the ring leader, the way I see it."
Then, I blew out the candle.

People criticized kimi raikonen for not being overly communicative with the media, but he is not payed for being a comedian, he is payed to be a racing driver, and thats a job he does damn well

Hamilton did very well, but lets face it, making Massa look like an idiot, is not all that hard. We saw Massa's old persona come out this weekend. Although he did gain a lot of patience as a tester, that old, give'r attitude came out while trying to fight Hamilton.

Kudos for being aggressive, but he should have been smarter, not harder.

Mclaren cried, and Ferrari's floor boards were modified, which lead to the decrease in gap between the two teams.

I think Kimi would like nothing better than to trounce his old team, especially since Alanso is at the helm. Lets see what Kimi can do this weekend with a healthy engine.

Did anybody catch SpeedTV's pre-race interview with Flavio? How the hell did this guy score a double world championship and date super models? That chest hair must be mighty impressive.

Even McLaren had to adjust their floor mounts. Hell, Ferrari pulled the same shit last year with the mass dampers when at least half the grid (including themselves) were running some variation of the device. If it weren't for that protest, Renault would have won the championship much sooner. What goes around, comes around.

Hamilton did a good job making Massa make that mistake from behind. Massa was driving angry since he was obviously faster.

I'm surprised he couldn't catch 4th place though.

Had Kimi had all of his motor, he could have pushed Hamilton harder and ended the race in a great duel.

This weekend in Bahrain will be a good one since everyone at the front will be on a new motor.

WTF is going on, Hamilton qualified 2nd!!!!! This kid is crazy!

BTW - if anybody is interested, I am watching the race tomorrow at Scallywags, a sports bar downtown. They are showing the race at 8am.

Anybody want to come with? It will just be my room mate and is, so it would be cool to have more people.

^^ I wish. I think I'm one of the relative few people that actually post their real location in the location spot.

I live in Amsterdam now, having moved here a month ago from Montreal. Lived in Montreal for a couple years, and Toronto before that

The race is on at 1:30pm here

Yay time zone advantage! no more getting up at 730am to watch the TSN broadcast bullshit.

I might hit a pub here to watch it actually. At least there I might get the ITV feed, and have it be in English instead of Dutch lol
