The ending melted faces, 10,000k of them

But the movie is easily on my top 10 favorite movies of all time. I wouldnt mind if it was 4 hours long, it was that good in my opinion. And the music was amazing.

yes, as for the comment about calvin klein lookig people, there were a lot of males thast looked liked they buffed up for this movie (it wasn't too over the top though

A: Xerxes. You know--the King of the entire enemy army.

B: yes, it was. Back then, they were strong, but they didn't give a shit about veins popping out of their arms or stress out about their Bod Pod readings. It was about strength & agility--not toning & definition. Anyone who wasn't busy drooling noticed.

It's common Hollywood convention to implicitly state the homosexuality of villains. The Xerxes character is such a cliched image, albeit from the Hays Code era of classic Hollywood cinema.

Which, brings me to my real complaints, all centered on the idea that 300 was perhaps one of the worst executed films that I can remember. A number of KEY scenes were directly ripped from other films: the rain of arrows falling upon the hero at the end and cutting out just before they hit (Hero 2002), the fields of wheat as a heaven/haven with strikingly similar lighting (Gladiator). Also, the use of slo-mo was so overdone. There was a lot of fighting but you always felt safe, that is what slo-mo does for christ sakes. Sure it looks really cool, but it doesn't bring you into the chaos of the battle as say does the realtime action of the Braveheart fight scenes. Along those lines, the film lacked any semblance of pacing.

The heavy handed parallels with Terrorism were just downright infuriating, especially consider the "truth" behind the actually 300 story. Which, if you haven't read, is remarkable and would have made an excellent story! The film hardly bases itself on reality, which is perfectly fine, except that history in this case was actually more compelling and inspiring than fiction.
