Best: Friday UMC party. The set-up was great, the music on all of the stages was great, and the weather was good. Music on Sunday night at Cameo was excellent.

Worst: Almost everything else. I guess it started bad with the $80 dollar Juicy Beach party at Nikki Beach. Sound and Set-up were both shit. People stepping on your feet and bumping you to get through without saying sorry or excuse me, is just not something I'm used to.
Did not bother going to clubs from then until Sunday night when I went to Cameo. This place can probably summarize my whole Miami experience. Good music but the VIP areas taking most of the dance floor space just ruined the whole experience. It did not feel like a party, so when the DJ was really turning it on, the crowd did not really respond.

The sound at Ultra Friday night was superb. They were able to handle The Cure and Junkie XL and Tiesto very nicely, and with the way Digitalism and MSTRKRFT were pushing the other stages they were supberbly set up there as well.
The only sound that topped that was Twilo. Hot damn.

Let's just say my vacation in Miami was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! This was the fourth year that I've gone to WMC..my experience was excellent on so many levels! I really couldn't be any happier! Among the highlights...

- Ferry Corsten @ Cameo (March 22): It was an awesome way to start my vacation in Miami! Ferry Corsten rocks as always!
- Day 1 of Ultra Music Festival (March 23): Seeing The Cure for the first time in many years was priceless! This was a much better experience than when I first saw The Cure in 1992! The Cure's set went on for over 2 hours, which included a few songs that I didn't expect to hear. I also loved Junkie XL's set...too bad it was only 30 minutes.
- Cosmic Gate @ Red Light District (March 23): I never expected to see DJ Bossi...and...Nic Chagall spinning a tag team set! Cosmic Gate doesn't tour the States very often. I'm so glad I didn't miss out! Wow! Hearing an awesome trance set at an small party was much better idea than dealing with the crowds @ Space!
- Armada All Night @ Twilo (March 24): This was my last night of clubbing for WMC...and it could not have been any better!!! It was an absolute blast from the time I made it to Twilo at 11 pm till Rank 1 closed out around 8:30 AM! Hearing sets from Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz...and Rank 1 (wow!)...was phenomenal! Moment of the night was hearing Rank 1 drop Brainwave! The whole night was trance fiend heaven!

OK...I'll add more details later. In my case, the positives far outweighed the negatives! Experiencing great music live, partying with friends I haven't seen in ages, and meeting new wonderful people...I couldn't have asked for a better vacation!

I can't wait to be back in Miami next March! :-)

worst parts; of course, rain (but..what can u do) and rabbit in the moon!! WTF WAS THAT ???? what was that guy doing on stage ?

oh, and word of advice, DO NOT buy VIP tickets for Ultra festival in the future. it is so NOT worth it! waste of money. there was even an option to upgrade your vip ticket for another $170. WTF !!?

overall, Ultra was OK. not mind blowing. i had higher expectations for stage design/lights/lasers & lineup.

but on the other hand, made-event parties were out of this world!!
went to 5th, BED, Pawn Shop, & Twilo

best times ever :-)

I met SO MANY NEW CLUBBER FRIENDS, it is nice to all come together as one and just SHUT UP AND DANCE!! Just dont be shy. Me I was a social butterfly for this trip...very unusual for me.

Yeah, Ihave to agree with you on this!!! VIP AT ULTRA was ROBBERY!!! The exclusive bathrooms were a joke and stunk worse then the portables. VIP section gave you a choice of hard liquors vs. just buying beer, but I was pissed that you still had to pay for the drinks as much as I paid. The ultra shoulder sling bag you can you use to slap yourself for even wasting your money on VIP. I had fun at ULTRA and would have been better had the rain not f'd it up for everyone.

The Made Events were the WAY to go this YEAR!!
My Best Memorable WMC pARTies: ARMIN@PAWNSHOP sunset set; Above&Beyond@BED; ARMADANIGHT@TWILO, GABRIEL & Dresden@pawn shop; FatBoySlim@ULTRA; Ferry Corsten@ULTRA; Oakenfold@Nikki Beach Closing Party; Mario Picotto@Ultra ; Sander Kleinenberg@ULTRA (i had to miss most of this set because of armin@pawn shop), but I got the set and it is SICK!!

FatboySlim really stood out at ULTRA FOR ME!! HE PLAYED SOME SLUTTY PROGRESSIVE HOUSE WITH SOME REMIXED CLASSICS OF HIS!!. He still gots what it takes to be a BIG ROOM DJ!

Worst: Juicy Party - the only thing good about this party were the chics, the vibe and the mojitos!!! VERY STRONG!!! I met alot of really cool people there. the planning of sets wasnt on point and I wasnt going to wait around to find out who was next either. I place more blame on the drinks i had at Juicy in going to above & beyond and passing out after a couple of hours into their set. I got only a few pix of A&B and do not remember much of that night. damn those mojitos!!! lol

BORIS@NOCTURNAL - the only thing good about this club is that the venue is STATE OF THE ART! VERY POSH!! I dont know what crap Boris was playin, but after listening to the same beat (probably song) and tempo after 30minutes with no change ups or anything...I left.

Worst yet, is that once I get home. I am sick and could not go to work for a couple of days...which was fine since I came back to see it SNOW IN DENVER!! I thought I was done this fluffing white shit....unless it is the kind that goes up my nose, I dont wanna SEE IT!!! LOL

Good-
Sander on the terrace was amazing. How can this madman do what he does for 8 hours straight? Great music, great party, great vibe. The terrace is just an incredible room.

Rank 1 was incredible. See my other posts.

Sunday School was so unique and amazing! What a venue, what a vibe! It's definitely like DC10 in Miami. I'm not so much into minimal, but I was on this day.

Bad-
Crowds & security at Space. It sucked getting up to the terrace and at one point I was scared for my safety.

PVD sucked. I used to be a huge fan. What happened? Usually he is boring to watch, but his music is great. This time, he was animated and fun to watch, but the music sucked. He kept blasting the horn and it became really annoying. I was very disappointed with him.

BEST :

one + one @ the fifth.

rené amesz's set during little mountain records @ shine. agreed, he completely stole the show from sander! [i will, however, swat trent cantrelle next time he doesn't drop the full version of "proper education" when the crowd's obviously begging for it! ]

cheapest drinks on south beach during the involved events happy hours @ the shelborne with S.O.S. and paolo mojo. only 20-25 people showed for S.O.S., so we got hammmmmmered with the guys. sasha's folks were there, too -- they're gracious, amazing, and some of the most-fun people i've ever met. getting to party WITH the DJs and have them serve us drinks was priceless! a must for next year.

WORST :

missing the radio 1 party.

day 2 @ ULTRA and flying home with walking pneumonia.

i must agree with Pete K(whom i saw a few times, good music brings good peeps, lol), on both accounts of people stealing shows at their respective label showcase, Mistress Barbara, now has a new #1 fan, she was fucking amazing, her lil 2 hr set was prolly one of my faves of WMC, if shes around ill be there from now on!

Rene Amesz, hes soo talented and a friend of mine since last wmc, he was actually supposed to close down the shine party but for some reason im not sure why Sander did. anyhow these showcases are mainly for their artists so it should be them stealing the show!, a good reason why i have been at every LMR and BC party since they have incepted during the WMC, the first LMR in 04 and BC in 05. 4 yrs of LMR and 3 years of BC they are not to be missed!

to say the least WMC is always the best shit, this year id say the best music i heard came from the SOS boys, they really are amazing and fuck im still a prog head at heart, and they were full of driving basslines and aggregated synths, a winner in my book

party vibe winner always goes to Sander on the terrace, fuckin guy could play the butt trumpet and that place would just feel right, not to mention we got there with Rene and he played 5 hours of straight funk to set he mood perfect for the Sander, another party ive been to since inception in 04 and for a damn good reason!

on the vibe note, Sunday School was stellar, nothing like the troopers of WMC, aka the ones who are waaay fucked , partying it up in the sun on sunday, hey the sun on sunday what do ya know, and some peeps go to church...lol...anyhow, i have determined that minimal is good, but i have to see it live, all this time i dl sets and play them and say fuck this...then Sunday school showed me a proper minimal party in the sun the way it is meant! what an amazing time that was and everyone who mattered showed up! not to mention hearing adam beyer for the first time in a dark room at noon on a sunday was a treat!

honorable mention- Claude von Stroke @ get physical, i went for booka shade and mandy, but i witnessed something ridiculous by that man, from time on till time off every single person in studio a was jumping up and down, u know its on when that type of shit goes down

while im on it, one reason that makes WMC is the daytime action, and for those who there in front of Mr. Tong while he shouted his business all over the globe @ radio 1 witnessed something special. a good reason peeps were paying $100 at the door for this shit, broads galore with ass for miles, and the greatest dj's at a pool on the fucking ocean...that is what WMC is all about, and that is why i have been and will be there every year!

and Mr. Coe and all the involved parties from teh bowlathon, getting to chill with sander with his whole fam, sasha, digz and SOS, fucking bowling to getting my drinks made by Sasha, SOS, polefolder, and quiver. this is why the week of WMC is the best week of the year hands down!

till 08 , i know ill see soem of u once again
