Best Tarantino cameo is hands down his part in Pulp Fiction.

I listened to an interview of the director on Npr Studio 360 and then watched the trailer and the whole thing seems real good

Children of Men is one of the most fantastic movies ever.
it's so brilliant in terms of creating a setting that is so in-depth to its plot. commercials of government endorsed suicide pills, animals becoming the replacement for children, paranoia of the government and the bleak chance for hope in a a world with no foreseeable future.
Cauron did so many wonderful shots with this film, it's hard to even begin naming them in any order.

The Fountain, recommended to skip. I found it hella hella boring and did not enjoy the attempts at philosophy or mtyhology. Some neat facts, but the way it is presented is so fucking boring. And that orchestral riff, how many times can they play that in a movie?

I rented The Pursuit of Happyness yesterday. Ignore. It's a plunge into depravity that is more cynical than Hostel. Things just get worse and worse and worse and youre like " sad face for will smith, he gets so fucked." and after 2 hours, everything is resolved in the last 2 minutes by 5 camera scenes and then some text saying "in 2006, he signed a multi-million dollar deal, kthxnbyt." the scene in the bathroom when he sleeps in the bathroom with his son and the guy keeps knocking to get in is very sad face though. true story, but i've seen better rags to riches stories.

Cell was pretty fucked up, but if you like a visual feast with sci-fi CG, check it out. very nice ideas applied to film inluding the "omg, the heart is still beating!"

Oldboy, foreign film. simply absolutely beautiful. From mystery to suspense to its revelation, it is just a work of art. The music is terrific too!

Battle Royale! definently a very violent film concerning a government program that pits a class of middle school students on an island to kill each other. sounds retarded? it's way deeper than that containing a lot of dialogue regarding youth, government and rebellion. serially, you have to see the movie to witness its brilliance. Read the book, it's even more awesome.

i liked the cell because it was a different sort of idea and i liked the cinematography of the movie. i like strange movies like that.

i liked what the story was about, for equilibrium. overall, i thought it was a decent movie, but i guess some of you don't, lol.

edit and i think "pulp fiction" is severely overrated.... as well as the "eternal sunshine of happiness" (tried to watch it 3 times and never made it) and "little miss sunshine"

DO NOT SEE "Hannibal Rising", it's simply dull and pointless and it's a disgrace to the 3 other hannibal lecter movies.

+1 for oldboy, one of my favourite movie.

As for Tarantino, he makes "cool" movies: always highly entertaining and stylish. But they're all slightly overrated and, imo, aren't on par with classic masterpieces because they don't seem to have any message to deliver.

I really want to see 'Shooter' with Mark Wahlberg starring.

Any opinions on it?
