Hmm, interesting view. I always thought of remixing as a way for other artists to throw their style into it, and not to necessarily improve the track itself. I haven't listened to trance in a while, so that may have changed.
Most remixes today seem to be the original with the remixer's presets. Nobody seems to put much effort in it anymore.
